Speaking to GQ, Garfield confessed that growing up, he assumed he would be the first one from his group of friends to get married and have children before he turned 40. But life had planned other things for the actor.
I always thought I would be the first to have kids and settle down, and they’re all shacked up and a couple of kids deep, for the most part. And I’m like [laughs]. I’m here with you, eating a burger, just contemplating existence. Trying to fill my days with as much nonsense as I possibly can. So that’s interesting.
Talking about the reason behind that, Garfield said that it is about “accepting a different path than what was kind of expected” of him. Although he admitted that he has “some guilt around that,” the actor has always given his career the utmost priority.
