Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who starred together in 2024’s It Ends With Us, have been two of the most talked-about celebrities over the past few months as their scandal-turned-legal battle takes center stage. After months of speculation that the two actors did not get along on set, Lively filed a s**ual harassment lawsuit against Justin Baldoni and the president of Wayfarer Studios, Jamey Heath.

In retaliation, Baldoni not only filed a lawsuit against The New York Times but also sued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds in another lawsuit. The director-actor also launched a website showcasing all the evidence they have so that the audience can have access to everything. Where the majority of the audience has decided to side with Baldoni, celebrities are Switzerland, with some of them voicing their support while others have decided to stay silent and away.

Celebrity friends and co-stars pick sides between Team Blake Lively and Team Justin Baldoni

In December 2024, Blake Lively shocked the entire world when she filed a s**ual harassment lawsuit against her co-star and director of It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni, and his production company. The New York Times published the report in which Lively alleged that she felt uncomfortable on set and accused Team Baldoni of launching a smear campaign against her online.

While we do not know how true these allegations from Lively are, looking at the comments about the actress on social media platforms in the past few months has been negative. Justin Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman stated in a statement to US Weekly that it was a case of Lively trying to fix her negative reputation and rehash a narrative about her, especially after people started to catch up on what went down on the film’s set.

Freedman has claimed that the allegations by Blake Lively are false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious. But despite that, there were a few celebrities who decided to lend support to the actress, including Gwyneth Paltrow. The Goop founder very subtly shared Blake Lively’s haircare Blake Brown brand on her social media and wrote, ‘Just added to my Christmas wish list.’

Colleen Hoover, author of It Ends With Us, was one of the first people who spoke up in favor of Lively as she wrote,

Blake Lively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive, and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.

According to US Weekly, the cast of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which includes America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel, shared a joint statement in support of Lively. They mentioned that they stand with Lively in solidarity as she fights back against the ‘reported’ campaign waged to destroy her reputation. Comedian-actress Amy Schumer also wrote on her social media that she believes Blake Lively. Filmmaker Paul Feig, who has worked with the actress in A Simple Favor, shared,

Deadpool & Wolverine‘s director Shawn Levy, who is a good friend of both Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, shared that he’s proud to be her friend. Lively’s It Ends With Us co-star Jenny Slate and producer Alex Saks have also voiced their support for the actress.

However, it was noticed Blake Lively’s former co-star Leighton Meester was seemingly quiet about the whole situation, and so were her dear friend Taylor Swift, co-star Anna Kendrick, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, and fashion icon Anna Wintour, who have remained silent.

On the other hand, actors including Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson, who worked with Baldoni in Five Feet Apart, have not specifically voiced their support since the lawsuit filing, but previously the actors have had positive things to say about him. The same goes for his Jane the Virgin co-stars Brett Dier, Gina Rodriguez, and Yael Grobglas, who formed a close friendship with the actor and have only good things to say about him. (via US Weekly)

Chelsea Handler wants Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni to ‘end’ their legal battle

Comedian Chelsea Handler, in a recent interview with Page Six, once again weighed in about Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal battle. She said,

The reason it’s such a frenzy is that they keep releasing more and more stuff. Stop it. You’re not helping yourself.

The comedian added that it’s like a situation in which one has to break up a fight in a schoolyard playground, noting that the situation seems like ‘Don’t they know to stop?’ Handler also asked if someone was asking them to stop it or not.

Chelsea Handler mentioned the now-infamous legal battle between the actors while hosting the Critics Choice Awards on February 7, 2025. She said at the time,

It’s important in difficult times to have a distraction, and that’s why I want to personally extend my gratitude to Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. I think we’re all grateful, and I think we’re good. I think everybody in this room, no matter whose side you’re on, can all agree to accept that there’s probably not going to be a sequel.

Lively recently criticized a report by THR about their feud and described it as ‘outrageously’ insulting as it plays into every sexist trope about women who dare to stand up for something they don’t feel comfortable with. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s legal battle goes on trial on March 9, 2026.
