Every Superhero In Black Adam, Explained
Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming movie, Black Adam, will introduce several new characters from the DC Comics universe by expanding the canon of The DCEU (DC Extended Universe). Black Adam has already been introduced to the public by Shazam! But this time, Black Adam will be fighting alongside some of his (rumored) nemesis. With that being said, these are the five superheroes who will appear in the upcoming DCEU film –
Albert Rothstein AKA Atom Smasher
The popular DC Comics character Atom Smasher has been confirmed to be a part of Black Adam after making a tradition in the comics. His inclusion in the movie was first rumored, but it’s now an actual guarantee. He’ll be portrayed by actor Noah Centineo who promised fans during DC FanDome that his and Black Adam’s paths would cross.

Kent Nelson AKA Doctor Fate
Similar to how Black Adam is a much more sympathetic character than his DC counterpart, Doctor Fate will also be different. This iteration of the classic character will be played by Pierce Brosnan. While Nelson’s presence is confirmed, the role will have roots in the comics and will feature both of Fate’s classic looks, his helmet, and cloak along with an amulet.
Khufu AKA Hawkman
Hawkman has a very long history in the comic book medium. Hawkman first appeared in Flash Comics #1. The current incarnation of Hawkman will be making his first appearance in Black Adam, played by Aldis Hodge. Since Hawkman will be making an appearance in Black Adam’s movie adaptation, writers have been careful not to reveal too much about him at this time because fans only know of his original incarnation as Khufu.

Maxine Hunkel AKA Cyclone
Black Adam will be receiving a brand-new ally, in the form of Maxine Hunkel aka Cyclone, who received her powers after a scientific experiment went horribly wrong. This did not deter Hunkel from becoming a superhero though and, as stated in the DC Comics universe, she has worked with the Justice Society of America (JSA).
The Wizard
By understanding the context of The Wizard’s appearances in the previous DC-related movies, we are capable of putting together a concept of what he will likely be like if he appears in Black Adam. We know for sure that The Wizard has appeared on screen before, portrayed by Djimon Hounsou in Shazam!.
