Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most well-done Star Wars stories of the franchise. Despite being advertised as a limited series, fans are still holding out hope for its grand return. It has Ewan McGregor as the frontman, who reprised his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The storyline follows Obi-Wan Kenobi as he tries to save young Leia after she has been kidnapped. However, he is being chased by Imperial Inquisitors and his former Padawan, now known as Darth Vadar.

The cast and crew members of Obi-Wan Kenobi have been teasing the possibility of a second season in the wake of its huge popularity. If it indeed materializes, the show does not need a new villain to make it iconic.

Obi-Wan Kenobi should go head-to-head with Darth Krayt in season 2

Season 1 of the show had a pretty solid ending. Darth Vadar had stopped pursuing Obi-Wan, and he started training to become the Force Ghost the audience sees in the original trilogy. Luke and Leia are also safe in their homes before the events of Episode IV take place.

With that in mind, the events of the original trilogy are all set to play out and technically, there is no need for another season. However, there can be one last adventure that he can have before the saga concludes once and for all. Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi can focus on the legendary conflict between Kenobi and Darth Krayt.

Star Wars: Legacy actually explains Darth Krayt’s past and his conflict with Obi-Wan on Tatooine following Order 66. Before Darth Krayt fell to the Sith, he was a Jedi named A’Sharad Hett and a native of Tatooine. He returned to his homeland after the fall of the Jedi order and became a leader of the Tuskens, with whom he went on a plunder of raiding moisture farms in the name of taking Tatooine back from invaders.

Hett unintentionally came across Lars family farm, which was under Obi-Wan’s protection, who defeated him in such a manner that he was not fit anymore to lead the Tuskens. He then founded One Sith and rose to a notorious power 150 years later in Legacy

By introducing Darth Krayt, the Star Wars franchise will have a future villain at its beck and call whenever it needs one. It will also be a great bridge between the past and the future of the franchise. It would truly make the whole series iconic.

Joel Edgerton gives a disappointing update about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2

While speaking with Slash Film, Joel Edgerton gave a rather disappointing update for fans of Obi-Wan Kenobi. When asked whether season 2 was happening, he straight up said he hadn’t heard anything. He even suspects that there is a possibility that the showmakers do not want him anymore. Check out his full quote below:

“I haven’t heard,” he insisted. “Either it’s happening and they don’t want me … or it … I don’t know, I haven’t, no. The short answer is no, I haven’t. And I’m not even faking that I don’t know. If it does happen and I am in it, I’ll probably be wearing brown, or some shade of brown. That’s all I know.”

Edgerton plays a pretty vital role in Obi-Wan Kenobi as Luke Skywalker’s step-uncle/surrogate father, Owen Lars. It would be highly unlikely for the show to completely write him off, especially if Darth Krayt is on the cards.

The show is available to stream on Disney+.
