Fans Cry Foul as Loki Writer Gets Sidelined in Favor of Doctor Strange 2 Author For the Next Big Avengers Event After ‘Endgame’
Loki is one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Disney+, if not the best. So far, English actor Tom Hiddleston has reprised his role as the Marvel anti-hero in the series twice. While creator Michael Waldron served as the head writer for the first season of the show, Eric Martin was appointed as the head writer for the second season of the show.
Recently, Michael Waldron was announced to have been tapped as the writer of Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. While this is a hopeful update regarding the movie, fans have different thoughts on the matter.
Fans Believe Loki Season 2’s Eric Martin Would Do Better Than Michael Waldron
Both Eric Martin and Michael Waldron are excellent in their own right as they both have helped Loki reach great heights. In fact, in May 2022, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige disclosed that the show was the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+ to date.
Michael Waldron has not only created Loki but also written the sequel to Doctor Strange, 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He had been appointed as the writer of Avengers: Secret Wars previously. Recently, he has also been tapped to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Fans, however, do not seem to agree with this decision as they believe that Eric Martin would have done a better job at writing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, the same way Waldrom will do a good job at writing Avengers: Secret Wars. One of these fans with the username CanWeGetSomeToast on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Eric Martin should’ve been the writer for ‘AVENGERS: KANG DYNASTY’ instead.”
Sure, tap the creator of ‘LOKI’ but not the guy who rewrote most of the first season and was the head writer for #LokiSeason2.

Some other fans expressed their hope in the fact that Martin and Waldron worked together on both the movies. It would obviously be a dream come true if the two masterminds were to come together for the two upcoming Marvel projects.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is Going to Take Time to Get Back on Track
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was going to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton who has previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. However, he dropped out recently. This does not mean he is done with Marvel as he will be working on Wonder Man and Shang-Chi 2, but he will certainly not be directing The Kang Dynasty.
Fortunately, the movie is not supposed to be released until 2026 which gives Marvel Studios plenty of time to look for a director while Michael Waldron works on the script, giving the film a complete makeover. Considering Loki‘s future is uncertain at the moment, Waldron can work on The Kang Dynasty, which will be followed by Secret Wars. So, it is quite likely that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is going to take some time to get back on track.
