Colman Domingo, to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror?

Actor Colman Domingo who recently starred in The Color Purple is rumored to be replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. During a conversation with ET at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, Domingo addressed the rumors about the same and said,

“I don’t know, I’m always looking at what I have to do right now… I know there’s talk and conversations around, and I don’t know how much is true. I don’t even get that from my team. I can’t tell if it’s true or not.”

Euphoria actor added that he feels grateful and honored that his name is being considered for the part especially coming from fans. He noted,

“The fans are passionate. Somehow my name is out there in the world and I like the idea of just having your name called and someone speaking lovingly and kindly about something is a beautiful thing. “

Kang the Conqueror will appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is scheduled for 2026 release, which gives MCU enough time to pick the right choice for the role. Industry insider Daniel Richtman had suggested that Domingo appears to be a front-runner for the part but nothing can be said until the studio officially confirms the same.

Colman Domingo expressed interest in playing the villain

Following his guilty verdict, Jonathan Majors was shown the way out of the MCU and since then there have been conversations about who was going to replace the actor. Back in 2022, according to Geek Tyrant, Colman Domingo in an interview had expressed that he feels he is ready to play a villain in either MCU or DCU. He said,

“When it comes to Marvel and DC, I’m like, ‘I think I’m ready now. I worked out, fit, I think I want to play a villain. I just want to be the villain. I don’t want to be the good guy. I actually want to do some really nasty, dirty work.”
