A heated internet argument is now raging over which Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter is worse: Captain Marvel or Thor: The Dark World. Fans on both sides of the argument are drawing their own lines in the sand on Twitter, with some solidly in Carol Danvers’ camp and others supporting the God of Thunder. Others, meanwhile, argue that Marvel Studios’ often-overlooked The Incredible Hulk and the contentious Iron Man 3 should also be included.

Thor: The Dark World, directed by Alan Taylor, was released in 2013 as a follow-up to the God of Thunder’s first solo excursion, pitting him against the Dark Elf Malekith. The Dark World, which has a 66 percent critics’ score and a 75 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, is frequently the butt of MCU jokes, and the process of creating the picture took a huge creative toll on Taylor. “I’d lost interest in making movies. I had lost my desire to work as a filmmaker, “he recently clarified. “I’m not blaming anyone for this. It was not a pleasant experience for me. As a result, I had to relearn the love of filming. “Captain Marvel, from writers/directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, took flight in 2019 and presented the origin tale of Carol Danvers, who returned to Earth in the 1990s after an accident involving the Kree bestowed her with incredible powers. While Captain Marvel has a higher critics score on Rotten Tomatoes than The Dark World (79%), the audience score is only 45 percent. However, it’s worth mentioning that Captain Marvel’s release was met with a rush of review bombs on the aggregation site from freshly established accounts that posted scathing reviews with little to no critical analysis of the picture itself. Rotten Tomatoes made many policy adjustments as a result of the event, including the removal of Captain Marvel’s “Want to See” percentage score was also slashed. The aforementioned Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 3 are both underappreciated by most MCU fans, but both feature aspects that are receiving a fresh lease on life courtesy of Marvel’s forthcoming film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. In the case of Hulk, Tim Roth’s Abomination will return for a cage battle against Wong, and in Iron Man 3, both the current and false Mandarins will play a part (though the former will likely play a far greater one given that he is the major adversary).
