It’s been more than a decade since Marvel’s Fantastic Four franchise has been airing for superhero movie lovers. Despite receiving negative reviews from the audience, the filmmakers continued to spend to produce more movies within the franchise.

Later with Marvel taking things into their hands, slowly the Fantastic Four franchise was able to come out from its negative criticism and soon it became among the most anticipated movie where a new movie is expected to make its way to release in 2025.

While the movie is going through pre-production stages, many rumors are floating around about the movie, especially about The Thing. To shed light on all of those rumors, Jeff Sneider, a famous movie critic shared everything we need to know, including about The Thing.

In one of the latest episodes of The Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha, Sneider revealed many details about the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. 

During the conversation, Sneider specifically took the topic of The Thing for which he clarified and made it clear that Ebon Moss Bachrach’s rumors to play for The Thing is not true. However, he will be cast in the movie, but not as among the four main people.

Sneider added that the role of The Thing will be played by a fat white guy. Talking about Moss Bachrach, he also clarified that he won’t be appearing as the main villain as we will most probably see Galactus as a villain. 

His statement about a Fat white guy took the attention of many movie buffs. Few fans shared that Kevin James would make a great fit for the role.

Many fans reacted to the “White Fat Guy” statement with a series of tweets, and also shared that James can make a right fit for the role.

Jeff Sneider Reveals Fantastic Four Cast Members

It’s not the first time, but we already have a lot of rumors including Matt Smith who is expected to play Reed Richards, however, the famous critic, Sneider clarified that he won’t be cast for that role. 

“The big rumor has been about Matt Smith that’s Reed Richards” Here’s what I’ll say about that, I don’t think that’s happening, I think that they did talk to him and the report came out that he was, you know got an offer you know ahead of the strike or whatever”

Sneider said that there is no actor as of now who is associated with playing Reed Richards, however, he said that there is a chance that the role can be offered again to Adam Driver.

However, Sneider does reveal other casts including Vanessa Kirby, who will most likely be playing Sue Storm. The Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning star will be portraying the Invisible Woman, and Jack Quaid, who is famous for The Boys, is expected to play Johnny Storm.

Fantastic Four: From Facing Criticism to Becoming Anticipated Favorite

Followed by the first movie which was released back in 1994, later we got to see the next movie in 2005 which faced a lot of negative criticism.

After 20th Century Fox’s acquisition of movie rights, the production house wasn’t impressed by the box office records earned by the third movie, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, after which the production house reportedly canceled the whole franchise. 

A rebooted version was later released in 2015, which again got subjected to a lot of criticism and negative reviews, after which a sequel for 2017 was scheduled but got canceled after the 2015 movie’s box office records tanked.

Later on, in 2019, Marvel Studios took things into their hands and revived the whole Fantastic Four franchise. Disney-owned Marvel added more plot twists by associating the characters of the Fantastic Four movie with The X-Men and Deadpool

Marvel has also tried to introduce the characters from Fantastic Four to their other movie project which includes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where we got to see an alternative version of the lead star of the franchise, Reed Richards, played by fan-favorite John Krasinski.
