Colin Farrell‘s The Penguin concluded its eight-episode run with a jaw-dropping finale episode that premiered on November 10, 2024. Episode 8 of the series saw Oz Cobb and Sofia Falcone, played by Cristin Milioti, have their last confrontation.
Thanks to his plotting and scheming, Oz got the Triads back on his side and Sofia behind bars. He is shown as he’s running the game in Gotham’s crime world for now. According to Comic Book Club, the season finale of The Penguin is set for the events going to take place in The Batman 2 starring Robert Pattinson. But before diving into what Matt Reeves had planned for The Batman, fans are curious to know if The Penguin is getting a sequel.
In a conversation with Interview Magazine, Matt Reeves acknowledged that they are looking at different DC characters to explore the same way. He shared,
Reeves added that he wants to make sure that they don’t do the original tale, which has already been done. He noted that the idea of being able to put a lens on these DC characters is very exciting to him, adding that it’s about cities and their dysfunction along with the world and its dysfunction. They are combined, and that is what Batman stories are all about.
Without denying or accepting the probable Season 2 for The Penguin, Reeves added
However, showrunner Lauren LeFranc shared at the New York Comic Con with The Direct that to do a second season, they have to feel like they can top themselves.
She added that they have to feel like there is something more there in these characters for them to dig in and showcase. LeFranc mentioned that even though these criminals are terrible people, she cares about them.
Colin Farrell’s The Penguin to appear in Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2
As season one of The Penguin comes to its conclusion, it sets up the events that will continue in the upcoming Batman 2. The critics as well as the audience have appreciated Farrell’s performance on the show.

The filmmaker mentioned that when he spoke to Warner Bros. about signing for TV, he explained to them that he wanted to have a sweeping Batman crime epic. That’s how The Batman Epic Crime Saga came into action, which connects the stories from the movie and shows depicting the corners of the Dark Knight’s playground.
Matt Reeves shared that the script for The Batman 2 is done and everyone’s preparing for the production. The only thing Reeves has shared is that there is going to be a time jump in the sequel after the film and TV series.
