This month long horror movie marathon was once just a week-long thing called Monsterfest. But Fearfest runs all through the month of October, and has all your favorites in the list.

Friday The 13th (1980)
The first movie of the horror franchise is probably its very best. The character of Jason – is as popular as the franchise itself. And in this month of Halloween, we all need a little bit of slasher films in our life.

Psycho (1960)
This Alfred Hitchcock directed psychological thriller is considered to be one of his very best. The movie is also the audience’s first introduction to Bates Motel as well as Norman Bates. And that is always a horror classic.

The Conjuring (2013)
The first movie in The Conjuring franchise stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the Warren’s – paranormal investigators and authors. The Warren’s are contacted by a family who think their house is haunted after a series of supernatural events, and the movie just keeps getting better from there.

This Satnley Kubrick psychological thriller based on the Stephen King novel is probably one of the best movies from the horror genre. Jack Nicholson stars as Jack Torrence – the writer who comes to the Overlook Hotel and then all hell breaks loose.

Another psychological thriller based on Stephen King’s book, Misery is about a famous novelist called Paul who is tortured by his self proclaimed #1 fan – Anne Wilkes, played by none other than Kathy Bates.

The Amityville Horror (1979)
Based on Jay Anson’s book by the same name, this horror movie s about a couple who move into their new house. A house, which they soon find out is very much haunted. Amityville has some of the most blood curling scenes in the horror genre, and a perfect match for Fearfest.

Bride of Chucky (1998)
Chucky and Tiffany – two possessed dolls on a journey to New Jersey to find an amulet, and regain their human form. That remise itself is enough to wanna make you watch it this Halloween. A new take on horror – this movie is a comedy slasher, and is an absolute gem.

Evil Dead (2013)
Evil Dead sees a group of 5 stuck in a cabin in the woods, where a malevolent spirit tries to kill all the members after one of the five reads an old incantation out loud despite all warnings. The first in the franchise, this movie is another horror fest and a great Halloween watch.

The Exorcist (1973)
A little girl gets possessed by a spirit and her mother tries to help her with the help of two priests by exorcising her. William Peter Blatty on whose novel the film is based on, also wrote the screenplay and went on to win an Oscar for it.

Halloween (1978)
If you are not watching the original Halloween movie during a horror movie marathon for the month of October, you’re doing it wrong. This slasher movie debuts Jamie Lee Curtis and stars Donald Pleasence, and is one of the best Halloween movies of all time.
