Florence Pugh Hopes the MCU Can Help Her Achieve One Career Milestone Even Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ Couldn’t
- Florence Pugh has been one of the rising stars in Hollywood with her incredible performances.
- Pugh hopes to work with Oppenheimer co-star Robert Downey Jr. at some point in the MCU.
- As of now, there are no chances of Doctor Doom and Yelena Belova crossing paths.
Florence Pugh has emerged as one of the rising stars in the past few years. From her acting debut in 2014’s The Falling to international recognition with three incredible films in 2019, she has been nothing short of a trailblazer with each new project that she has undertaken.
Recently, she has been busy attending San Diego Comic-Con with her Thunderbolts* castmates to give fans a glimpse into what awaits them in the upcoming movie. While being interviewed at the event, she expressed her wish to work with fellow MCU star Robert Downey Jr.
Florence Pugh Wants to Work Alongside Iron Man Actor Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. is an inspiration to many actors for proving that resilience can help a person get through the darkest of times. From being a drug addict to becoming one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, he has come a long way in his career.
Like any professional seeking to collaborate with someone good at what they do, Florence Pugh wants to do at least a couple of scenes with Downey Jr. They both have starred in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which was one of the two biggest blockbusters of the past year.
Pugh recently attended the San Diego Comic-Con as a cast member of Thunderbolts*. At the event, when The Hollywood Reporter‘s interviewer mentioned RDJ’s return to the MCU, the actress said that she would love to work with Downey Jr. at some point.
I hope I get to do a few scenes with him because I didn’t get to do scenes with him in Oppenheimer. Let’s figure that out.
While Downey Jr. starred as Lewis Strauss in the biographical film, Pugh appeared as Communist Party USA member Jean Tatlock. They both did commendable work in the movie but did not get the chance to share the screen.
Are There Chances of Doctor Doom and Yelena Belova Crossing Paths?
The Dolittle star played Iron Man for more than a decade and Pugh joined the MCU franchise in 2021 as Yelena Belova. While the former had retired from his character in 2018, it has been recently announced at SDCC that he will be playing the role of Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, set for release in 2026.
The Little Women actress will be reprising her role as the spy in Thunderbolts*, scheduled to be released in 2025. The asterisk in the movie title continues to be a mystery for as long as the movie is not released and features a group of anti-heroes, who had been perceived as villains earlier.
There are no confirmed regarding Doctor Doom and Yelena crossing paths in a project. However, given the ever-expanding nature of the franchise and its interconnectedness, there is no telling what the future has in store for them.
