“For her own privacy I won’t share who it was”: Meghan Markle Reveals a Mystery Famous Women Requested Her to Never Stay Silent After Marriage With Prince Harry
Meghan Markle has been a topic of tabloids headlines ever since she joined the Royal British family in 2018. The actress who was once known for her work in Hollywood and activism was accused of ruining the image of the British Royal family. Recently, the former actress was highly criticized for her interview with The Cut, where she talked about her life after stepping down from royal duties. Even after all this, Markle never backed up.
In the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes, she talked about a piece of advice she received from a famous woman. A suggestion that encouraged her to continue her work, and do what she has been doing from a very young age.
Meghan Markle Received an Advise From an Influential Women
After stepping down from royal duties with her husband, Meghan Markle launched her podcast Archetypes. In the latest episode of her podcast, the Duchess of Sussex discussed the topic of activism.
Jameela Jamil, Ilana Glazer, and Shohreh Aghdashloo joined her on the latest podcast. They discussed why women who fight for the issue they care about get so much criticism from the public.
As the podcast came to an end, Markle shared a piece of advice she received before her wedding. She also mentioned that person who gave her the advice is a very influential woman. And she would not divulge her name due to privacy reasons.
“She said to me, I know that your life is changing, but please don’t give up your activism. Don’t give up because it means so much to women and girls,” Meghan Markle said.
The Duchess of Sussex further mentioned that she continued to work for women and girls because it matters. But that advice did serve as an encouragement to keep up the good work. Markle has been known for her activism for women’s empowerment.
Activism is Meghan Markle’s Top Priority
The former actress first realized the impact she can have after she called out a Procter & Gamble advertisement when she was only 11. The advertisement gave out the message that women are the only ones expected to do housework. She wrote a letter to the president of the company along with the then-First Lady of the USA, Hillary Clinton. The advertisement was later edited to deliver a more influential message.
Throughout her career, the Duchess has made activism a top priority. As she rose to fame with her hit television show, Suits, Meghan Markle campaigned for equality and gender. She continued to encourage young people to speak out if they see or feel something is not right.
“I’m proud to be a woman and a feminist,” she said while talking about gender equality at the UN on International Women’s Day. She has been vocal about her opinion on women’s empowerment and how they need to be empowered.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also announced last month that they would be teaming up with The VING Project. They will give $1 million in small grants to women in need.
