Wicked is out and has taken over cinemas around the world. It is doing quite well at the box office and the exciting press tour paired with the phenomenal marketing tactics has a lot to do with this performance. One particular thing that is now drawing eyeballs is Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s behavior during interviews.

During an interview with PinkNews, the actresses were asked how their characters in the movie have changed them for good. Grande claimed that she learned to trust herself more from Glinda while Erivo grew emotional as she expressed that she has learned to show her vulnerability from Elphaba. With some literal hand-holding from the One Last Time singer, the Academy Award-winning actress was able to tell about her experience.

The emotional behavior of the two actresses during the interview has caught fans off guard and their reactions have gone viral on X.

The thing with SNL is that they pick up viral videos from the internet to recreate in their skits and considering how viral this one has gone, there is a good chance that it might end up becoming an SNL skit years from now.

It is now no secret that Grande wanted to become a part of the Wicked musical movie whenever it was going to be made. So, when the opportunity presented itself, she was obviously not going to pass up on it and was willing to do whatever was needed to prove herself worthy of the role.

During The Job Interview for WSJ. Style, director Jon M. Chu was asked about the tricks he used to find the right actors for the roles of Glinda and Elphaba. Speaking of the Yes, And? singer’s audition for the part of Galinda/Glinda, he said:

I wanted to find Galinda. She [Grande] had to audition, everyone had to audition. And she came in the first time, and she looked like Ariana Grande. And we thought, “Hey, what if you came back and just didn’t have any of your makeup?” I did not know how that would go over. Not even a question. She came in and did that, and I saw her in a totally new light that I’d never seen her in.

Chu also praised Erivo’s audition for Elphaba’s part saying that her singing was so impactful that even the birds who had made nests around the stage would sing every time the actress sang. That was all the proof they needed to know that she was the one for the role.
