Ever since the lawsuit against Justin Baldoni was filed, it seems like Blake Lively has opened Pandora’s box. Both of them have attacked one another and now, there’s no backing down. Months ago, Lively filed a complaint accusing her It Ends With Us co-actor and director, Baldoni of s*xual misconduct and approaching with a smear campaign. After denying all the allegations, recently the director of the movie sued the actress and her husband Ryan Reynolds, along with her team for $400 million.
Based on recent updates and reports, it seems apart from Reynolds, there have been other celebrities as well who might have played an important role in the whole drama. Taylor Swift and It Ends With Us writer Colleen Hoover’s names have been dragged into the controversy. Now, the outspoken commentator Candace Owens has given a clearer picture in her podcast. Ryan Reynolds
It is not a secret anymore that Ryan Reynolds played a major part in this whole drama between his wife, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni. From being involved in rewriting the script to pressurizing Baldoni to change the script as per the revisions to having his name in the end credits of It Ends With Us. Lively mentioned him as Gordon Reynolds in the credits.
To jog your memory, her husband’s movie Deadpool & Wolverine featured a range of Deadpool variants, one of which was Nicepool (named Gordon Reynolds). Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman thought it was a dig at his client to mock him and show him who has the real power. When Freedman appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show, he talked about how Nicepool pinpointed Ladypool’s physical appearance (referring to Lively) and dissed his client for identifying himself as a feminist. The lawyer said,
What I make of that is that if your wife is s*xually harassed, you don’t make fun of Justin Baldoni. You don’t make fun of the situation. You take it very seriously, you file HR complaints, you raise the issue and you follow a legal process. What you don’t do is mock the person and turn it into a joke.
Candace Owens has recently talked about Reynolds’ involvement and stated that this wouldn’t have happened if the Hollywood couple didn’t have a connection in the industry of that level.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift‘s name has been getting dragged into the whole controversy for quite some time. Not only has Swift’s song been used in the movie, It Ends With Us, but she has also been one of the pillars of strength for Lively as her best friend. As stated in Owens’ podcast, Swift was present when Lively called Baldoni to her house to discuss the rooftop scene. Apparently, both the women, along with Reynolds, manipulated and pressured him enough to rethink the scene.
Baldoni recently added a leaked voicemail where he can be heard saying he will align the script as per Lively’s vision. Now, Candace Owens in her podcast slammed the Hollywood couple for using Swift’s fame and power to reach out to the New York Times for the hit piece. She said, “Blake Lively to me is a B-list actor, Ryan Reynolds is a well-known but he is not on the stratosphere of Taylor Swift or the Kardashians. Those are the people who can pick up the phone and get some articles written.”
When the NY Times released an article to drag Baldoni down, he sued the publication for $250 million.
Colleen Hoover
Colleen Hoover has been a constant supporter of Lively ever since the movie was announced, even during the promotions and after that. It Ends With Us is a movie adaptation of Hoover’s novel of the same name. She has been involved in the process of making the film through and through. Though the movie received a mixed reaction from the audience, readers, and critics, things started to spiral after the lawsuit.
However, Hoover never stopped supporting Lively. The day after she filed the lawsuit, the author of the novel took to her Instagram story and praised the actress. She wrote (via People):
Blake Lively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive, and patient since the day we met. Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.
Now, in the podcast, Owens mentioned that if Baldoni is subpoenaing people, he must subpoena Hoover. She further claimed if there’s nothing to hide then why did Hoover delete her Instagram account on January 22, 2025? Owens said, “I think we’re trying to delete a digital trail.”
Candace Owens then pointed out the fact that Hoover didn’t seem surprised when Lively talked about if the author gets her rights back then she would be in the sequel of It Ends With Us. For those who don’t know, Hoover had given Baldoni and Wayfarer Studio all the rights to turn them into movies. Around this time, Hoover launched her own production company “with the aim of getting control over her future books”.
Bradley Cooper
While Justin Baldoni had a vision about the movie, Lively wanted to have her version. She threatened Sony and got her way around it to edit the film her way, according to a Reddit user’s post that has been pulled up in Candace Owen’s podcast. Apparently, the Gossip Girl actress hired Swift’s music video editor while she was filming in Italy.
Many A-listers were invited for a screening of It Ends With Us after the edit was done, as per the Reddit post. Bradley Cooper was one of the celebs who came to watch the edited cut. Cooper was also mentioned in the end credits of the movie along with Swift, Britney Spears, Gordon Reynolds, and more.
Owens, in her video, shared that she had been thinking about why Lively thanked Cooper in the end credits because it didn’t make any sense. But now, the Reddit post checked out that fact. Bradley Cooper also had some sort of involvement in making the movie that sparked so many controversies.
Brandon Sklenar
Brandon Sklenar who played Atlas, Lily’s childhood romance, in It Ends With Us has been another Lively supporter since the beginning. After her lawsuit, he took to his social media platforms asking everyone to read the complaint. However, after Baldoni sued the actress and her team, Sklenar has been silent. Owens in her podcast talked about the actor and shared her point of view. She said, “I think he should be subpoenaed.”
