Gal Gadot Has the Most Ludicrous Explanation for Her Fast X Return After Her Seemingly Inescapable Death
The end of Fast and Furious, the franchise that started at the start of this century is now around the corner. With the release of Fast X earlier this year, which is the first of the three-part end of the franchise, we see Gisele Yashar returning. Played by Gal Gadot, the character had died a decade ago, in Fast and Furious 6. A character returning after death only to reveal they were alive the whole time is not unheard of in the series. Yet, seeing Gisele in Fast X had varied reactions, and Gadot was quick to comment on the subject.
Gal Gadot Defending Gisele Yashar’s Comeback
In classic Fast and Furious fashion, another character who had seemingly and very convincingly died in previous installments of the series makes a comeback. Gal Gadot resumes her role as Gisele Yashar in Fast X. The theme in these movies has always been to literally bring back the dead. It is a recurring incident in the films and it is safe to say fans are tired of it.
Gisele’s return had some incredulous responses in fan spaces. In an Actually Me segment with GQ, Gadot goes undercover on the internet to reply to fans on various social media platforms. Answering a Redditer’s shocked question regarding Gisele’s death, Gadot laughs and replies:
Did you see a body? I didn’t see a body. Did you?
Gadot is referring to a tactic that is extensively used in the Fast and Furious franchise where a make-believe death of a character is portrayed but the dead body is never shown. Leaving the possibility that the character didn’t die in the first place. This has happened to other characters including Han Lue and Letty Ortiz.
Consistently using death as a plot device only to eventually undo it, demeans its significance. It also creates a pattern and makes some twists and turns predictable, spoiling the movie. It remains to be seen what Gisele’s comeback means for the upcoming two movies.

Gal Gadot is Happy to be Back
Even though the fans are delighted yet skeptical about Gisele’s return, Gadot revealed herself to be really excited to come back to the Fast Family. She praised the franchise for cultivating a fanbase like no other:
“I think that the Fast Saga… they manage to create a huge, incredible, loyal fanbase like no one else. I’ve seen it nowhere [else], you know? And my love to them, and the love from the fans, and my love to the fans, it just felt right this time. And it’s very exciting.”
