Get Ready to See the Most Bizarre Team Up of Denzel Washington’s Career as He Reportedly Joins Force With A$AP Rocky and Ice Spice For High and Low Remake

Having won numerous accolades such as two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes among others, he has proved his proficiency as an actor.
Washington has long been a collaborator of acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee. They worked together for the first time in 1990 in Mo’ Better Blues. This year, the two legendary artists are joining forces for a police procedural drama film and recent news on it might take some by surprise.
A$AP Rocky and Ice Spice Are Cast Members of Denzel Washington’s Upcoming Movie
Washington will appear in Spike Lee‘s remake of 1963’s High & Low. Directed by one of the most renowned filmmakers Akira Kurosawa, the movie is a crime thriller, that follows the board member of a shoe company who finds himself in a dilemma when he is faced with the decision to use a huge amount of money to gain executive control over the company and saving his employee’s child who is held hostage for ransom.

According to World of Reel‘s Jordan Ruimy, while Jeffrey Wright and Ice Spice have long been confirmed to be members of the cast of the remake, famous rapper and Rihanna’s baby daddy A$AP Rocky has also joined the cast as a character named Yung Felon.
Additionally, the Instagram account backgrid_usa also posted a video in which the singer is seen walking up the steps of the Courthouse in New York, surrounded by protestors holding up signs featuring his face, advocating for justice and peace.
Ruimy also claimed that earlier, Showbiz411 and Daniel Richtman had reported that Halle Berry would also star in the movie. However, no official announcement has been made regarding this. That being said, A$AP Rocky’s addition to the cast is quite surprising.
What Do We Know About Spike Lee’s High & Low Remake?
Spike Lee is the mastermind behind some of the best Hollywood movies. His works have often played a great role in the breakthrough of some of the most popular Black actors such as Samuel L. Jackson, Giancarlo Esposito, and even Washington’s son John David Washington.

The High & Low remake is currently using the working title Highest 2 Lowest, which may or may not be the official title. There is no official announcement regarding the movie’s plot so it is hard to tell if Lee will stick to Kurosawa’s story or alter it. Even if it is not a frame-by-frame remake, it can be considered that it will be heavily inspired by the original.
All four of Lee’s collaborations with Washington have been received well, so, likely, this movie will also be a hit. A24 and Apple Studios are producing it. Last month, the former posted a picture of Lee and the Inside Man star on X, suggesting that filming has begun.
