Cillian Murphy has been the talk of the town after starring in the historical drama. The actor leads the film directed by Nolan and plays J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer is based on the real-life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb. Murphy is parised for his portrayal of the titular character and risen to fame. However, in a recent interview, Cillian Murphy revealed he regrets not starring in another film directed by Nolan.

With Oppenheimer, his first leading role in a Nolan film, Cillian Murphy‘s decades-long partnership with the director reached a new high. The film received the highest reviews of the actor’s career and generated Oscar chatter for best actor.

Nolan is known for making great films, and the Irish actor has played a supporting role in three Batman films. During a press tour, Murphy was asked if there were any Nolan movies not featuring him that he wished he could’ve starred in. The actor chose the filmmaker’s 2014 sci-fi epic Interstellar. He said,

“I adore Interstellar just because I find it so emotional. I remember seeing it in the cinema when I had little kids. It just had a big impact on me. It broke my heart. I love watching his films when I’m not in them because you don’t have to freak out about the size of your ears, or whatever.”

The Irish actor emphasized that Nolan chose the right people for Interstellar and has no hard feelings. The 2014 film starred Matthew McConaughey in the lead as a former NASA pilot who is hired to search for a new planet outside of the solar system that can sustain human life.

Robert Oppenheimer, the man responsible for developing the atomic bomb received worldwide praise. The sci-fi thriller marks the Irish actor’s first lead in Nolan’s film.

Oppenheimer has seen steady growth at the box office, but fans are loving the 47-year-old’s role in the film. As the actor revealed he wanted to be part of the filmmaker’s 2014 film Interstellar, fans took to Twitter to praise him for the choice and getting a chance to shine in Oppenheimer.
