Good Morning America’s T.J. Holmes Reportedly Using Racism Card To Not Get Fired, Claims What If ‘The 2 Consenting Adults Were White?’
In November 2022, news emerged that co-anchors of Good Morning America 3: What You Need to Know, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, were having an affair. This threw the journalists into the spotlight despite the public believing they were married to people other than each other. After being taken off air from the show on December 5, 2022, the couple remained on hiatus while ABC investigated their relationship. Later, as per the reports, they were spotted on the streets of Miami shopping for beer and supplies for an intimate celebration as they went there to spend some quality time together on New Year.
Now, reports suggest ABC could face a lawsuit if it fires or shifts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach from their anchor positions on the show. Additionally, both co-anchors are prepared with their lawyers to re-establish their reputations in public.
T.J. Holmes And Amy Robach’s Alleged Legal Strategies To Get Back On The Show
There are no signs that the relationship between GMA3’s co-anchors, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, is slowing down, as it has become stronger than ever since their relationship was first reported. Furthermore, their legal fight to regain their reputation and job is getting stronger alongside their relationship.
As reported by TMZ, Robach has hired Andrew Brettler, one of the best civil lawyers in Hollywood, and Holmes has retained Eric George, a celebrity lawyer with extensive experience handling celebrity cases. TMZ’s sources indicate that the lawyers are ready to file a lawsuit if ABC terminates Holmes and Robach, and one issue will be race-based.
TMZ reported that the couple’s lawyers may ask ABC,
“Has ABC ever used the morals or conduct clause to fire or discipline 2 consenting adults at equal levels when both were white?”
According to TMZ’s sources, there is a possibility that ABC invoked the morals clause for the first time in this case since a Black and a White anchor was involved. Moreover, the sources claimed the damages could be immense if the network’s discipline ruined their reputations and careers.
After having an affair with co-anchor Amy Robach, Holmes filed a divorce petition late last year against his wife, Marilee Fiebig, with whom he shares a daughter. According to reports, Holmes hired Robert H. Moses to represent him in court against his ex-wife Fiebig for their divorce battle.
Marilee Fiebig Breaks Silence On T.J. Holmes And Amy Robach’s Affair
T.J. Holmes’ estranged wife, Marilee Fiebig, has made her first public comments since her husband’s high-profile affair with co-anchor Amy Robach was uncovered. After Holmes filed divorce papers recently, Fiebig also issued a public statement through her divorce attorney, Stephanie Lehman, on January 11.
Her lawyer Lehman stated,
“During the holiday season and in light of the challenging times, Marilee’s sole focus has remained on the overall best interest of her 9-year-old daughter [Sabine].”
The lawyer added,
“Fiebig has been working with Holmes’ counsel to move [Fiebig and Holmes’] divorce forward privately, expeditiously, and as amicably as possible.”
“Notwithstanding, we continue to be disappointed by T.J.’s lack of discretion, respect, and sensitivity toward Marilee and the party’s daughter.”
The lawyer concluded,
“The outpouring of support has touched Fiebig since the scandal first made headlines in November 2022, and she looks forward to a new beginning in this new year.”
After T.J. Holmes’ explosive affair drama with Amy Robach, GMA host Michael Strahan left a sweet comment on Fiebig’s recent Instagram post showing his support for her. During the holiday season, Fiebig also subtly supported Robach’s estranged husband, Andrew Shue, and his family on Instagram by liking his post.
