Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Rotten Tomatoes Score: Marvel Fans Concerned For James Gunn’s Final MCU Movie
The new James Gunn movie Guardians of the Galaxy sequel isn’t doing so hot on the Rotten Tomatoes meter. So much so, it set a new record and managed to score the lowest among the three despite the hype around it. Although phase five had a bit of a rocky start, the anticipation of this movie was through the roof among the fanatics. Even after being called “the best MCU movie in years” the scores failed to reflect such emotions of the critics and the fans.
Fans are now concerned about the highly anticipated James Gunn movie that somewhat failed to uphold itself in comparison to the success of its predecessors, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 sets a new record
The James Gunn directorial currently sits at 79% on the Tomatometer with a total of 101 reviews. Which until now is the lowest that has ever been recorded in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga. Despite the early reactions to the movie being positive, the scores failed to match the excitement. Although it did not flop as monumentally as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania did, it has still suffered a very big dent ahead of its release in cinemas. The “best MCU movie since Endgame,” is currently ranked at the 19th position tieing its place with Captain America: The First Avenger.
The first two movies scored 92% and 85% respectively, thus people can estimate the latest that marks James Gunn bidding farewell to the franchise will score in the ballpark and unfortunately will not exceed the said ratings, its predecessors bagged. The film also is estimated to make $130 million in the first couple of days of its domestic release which is already higher than the first movie, which opened with $94.3 million. The only thing that can now save the film is its fans and their personal experiences.
Are fans still excited for the movie?
The MCU is no stranger to the average Rotten Tomato scores post-Endgame, it has indeed been difficult for the franchise to find its footing, and match the monumental success it was known for previously in its new phase. Although the prospects of all the new visions excite fans, they still do not match the hype they once used to gather.
Fans are still hopeful, that the final movie of the saga will provide them with much-needed closure. The die-hard loyal fans of the saga are praising the Chris Pratt starrer for its stunning visuals and are still excited despite the film being ranked below the two among its sequels. Here are some of the tweets that showcase what the fans are going through at the moment.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 is full of stakes, emotion & feels like a solid ending (good thing!). The production design & set pieces are some of Marvel’s strongest. It’s long, but the theme of found family is & will always be it’s strength. I’ll miss these misfits 💙 #GotGVol3 pic.twitter.com/inK2g6rfAi

#GuardiansOfTheGalaxyVol3 has the most heart & soul from any MCU film in a long time. At times it's hard to believe that Gunn got away with so much of this, in the best way possible. You're going to need tissues, but not for the reasons you're expecting.

Although one way to gauge is the Rotten Tomatoes scores, which provides a mix of the critical and audience consensus on a film it is estimated with time, people will ultimately rely on word of mouth rather than the scores to decide whether it will be worth a watch or not. As the saga is coming to an end people are quite emotional and thus do not want to miss out on the very last time they see the cast all together on screen.
