Halle Bailey, an actress who recently played Princess Ariel in Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, is dating DDG right now. When the two of them were spotted together at Usher’s Las Vegas residency in 2022, romance rumors began to circulate.

Halle Bailey, one half of the iconic duo Chloe X Halle and an actress who recently starred in The Little Mermaid and will be seen in The Color Purple movie musical, is dating DDG, real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.
Although the couple has kept their relationship private and away from the eyes of the media and the audience, in her Glamour cover story back in May, she shared when asked about her personal life, “For my peace and my sanity, I have to keep that private.” They stepped out in June 2022 on the red carpet of the BET Awards marking the award show as their official red carpet appearance and then for the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.
She also spoke to People magazine and was asked if her boyfriend has the makings of a Disney prince, to which she said that she said that he did, adding, “The best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else. And you’re discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn’t notice before about your heart.”
During an interview in August 2022, Halle shared about her boyfriend; “I’ve been a fan of his for years. I grew up being on YouTube and would always see young black creators and was constantly inspired by them. He was one of them.” But after she got busy with her career she forgot about him until she saw that he was dropping music and it gravitated her towards one song and he messaged her.

Who has Halle Bailey dated before DDG?
Given her status as an acclaimed actress and singer, it is natural to think that she might have been linked with a couple of people, but according to the reports, Bailey has not dated anyone else publicly.
However, the sisters did speak about each others’ preferences during a live video and Chloe said Halle likes a guy who has confidence and swag. During an interview with Essence, the actress-singer shared that she is a protector when asked to describe herself regarding people she loves.
She said, “If you’ve got a problem with so-and-so, then we’ve got a problem. I’m a fire sign … If I love you and somebody crosses you, it’s over. That’s been my stance since I was young.”

Halle Bailey talks about being in love with DDG
The actress, during her interview with British Vogue in April, mentioned that experiencing deep love for the first time has changed her and opened an entirely new world for her in terms of creativity, adding that she now understands what it feels like to love someone other than one’s family, and how they become the center of one’s world.
Bailey added, “I like all of the scary feelings that come with that. I like the suspense, the not knowing what’s going to happen, and I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to be going through in womanhood.” On the other hand, DDG gushed about the actress ahead of her movie’s release by stating, “I’m very proud of her. And I’m just happy to see it. I feel like sometimes I’m even more excited than anybody else. Just seeing it and seeing everything that she dreamed of coming to life, it’s really dope.”
Talking about her relationship, she said that she understands that her relationship is in the public eye and sometimes she wishes that she did not have so many eyes on her, especially when she is experiencing such love for the first time, because it’s scary.
