The famous former couple dated from December 2012 to 2013 as per reports. Fans also speculated that Harry may have gotten his revenge when he co-wrote Perfect for One Direction’s fifth album.
Taylor Swift Took a Brutal Dig at Ex-Boyfriend Harry Styles
The most viral moment took place at the VMAs, where all eyes were on them and Taylor Swift hung out with best friend Selena Gomez, while Harry Styles had his One Direction mates by his side. 1D won the Moonman for Song of the Summer for Best Song Ever while Swift won Best Female Video, however, not letting the One Direction singer hide from the spotlight, the then 23-year-old singer took a massive dig at him as she received the award.
While accepting the award, her speech was filled with sass. Swift said,
“I want to thank the fans because I tweeted about this a lot, I really wanted this. I also want to thank the person who inspired this song because he knows exactly who he is because now I’ve got one of these.”
What was even more awkward was that the cameraman zoomed the lens immediately at Harry Styles during her speech, who was seen casually relaxing and chewing on gum looking at her.

Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan’s reaction to this massive dig was also captured at that moment making things more obvious. During the New York premiere of One Direction’s movie, This Is Us, Harry was asked about the dig at him by Taylor, and he answered in a diplomatic tone by saying, “It’s alright, she likes a joke. I like a joke as much as the next guy, so it’s all good.”
In another interview, Harry Styles admitted that having songs written about him is a flattering feeling. The singer also gave an example of his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift and he thinks she is a great songwriter.
