Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated movie Captain America: Brave New World, starring Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Liv Tyler, and more, recently released its first trailer. The movie is going to be the fourth installment in the Captain America film series and is a continuation of the television series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie is going to explore Mackie taking over Captain America’s role after Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers last appeared in Avengers: Endgame.

The trailer for the movie sets up a story where President Thaddeus Ross proposes Sam Wilson’s Captain America as an official tool of the U.S. military. The idea does not sit right with Wilson, which then follows plenty of action with the new Captain America showing why he isn’t Steve Rogers. Towards the end of the trailer, a character’s glimpse has already had the fans excited.

Captain America: Brave New World introduces Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk

Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World’s trailer starring Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez and more towards the end, teased the audience with a new Hulk, Red Hulk, who is reportedly the new villain who has ties to the very beginning of the MCU. IGN reported that the upcoming movie’s storyline could be based on any of the various Hulk comic storylines that ran from 2008 to 2010 and prominently featured Red Hulk.

According to ScreenRant, in the comics, the origins of Red Hulk start shortly after the events of World War Hulk. It has been known that he was the military attaché of the gamma radiation project in New Mexico that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk. Ross resented the fact that Banner had the final say on the project over him, which started a rivalry between the two.

The same satellite that was used to drain the Hulk of his gamma radiation also collected it to be secretly used by a supervillain, Intelligenica. President Thaddeus Ross was convinced by Intelligenica to be the test subject for Red Hulk. The Red Hulk first appeared in Hulk #1 in 2008 to give Hulk a true physical equal.

There were a lot of questions about why Ross’ Hulk is red and not green like Banner, which, according to Nerdist, M.O.D.O.K., combined gamma radiation with cosmic rays to give to Ross. The cosmic rays portion of the process turned Ross’ Hulk red and not green. Talking about the powers of the Red Hulk compared to the Green Hulk, Ross’ intelligence and personality are reportedly maintained despite the transformation, whereas Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk often had to deal with a rage-filled persona.

It was later that Banner figured out a way to merge his intelligence with the strength of Hulk, creating a Smart Hulk known since Endgame. Red Hulk cannot revert to his human form, but he has the power to absorb different types of energy. Reports suggest that a fight between Captain America and Red Hulk would be a great way for the latter to debut in the MCU, especially with Thunderbolts right around the corner. It would be apt to say that from the trailer and ardent fans already aware of the Red Hulk can say that he can overshadow the Smart Hulk.

Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito feels ‘honored to be a part of the MCU’

The highly anticipated trailer for Captain America: Brave New World recently dropped, and other than ending it with Red Hulk, the trailer featured a familiar face: Giancarlo Esposito, who is reportedly going to serve as the new villain. The actor took to social media and wrote, ‘Honored to be a part of the MCU, let’s go.’  He’s playing George Washington Bridge in the movie and according to The Mary Sue, he does not fall under either hero or a villain category with noting that he boasts no super hero powers. G.W. is however very skilled in hand-to-hand combat and weaponry.

He joined S.H.I.E.L.D and has proven his capability and made it through the top ranks over the years. Ardent fans of the comic books and Breaking Bad are very excited to see the actor play the character and make it his own.

Fans also took their chance to react to the trailer, with one user pointing out the teasing of Red Hulk towards the end. They wrote, ‘He looks insanely good. Lets goo.’ With another one writing, ‘Long overdue’. A user noted, ‘Harrison Ford is the reason I think I will give this movie a shot.’

A lot of fans seemed excited to see what Ford’s Red Hulk was going to do with the role. Harrison Ford took over the role after William Hurt, who had played General Thaddeus Ross, passed away. In the trailer, Sam Wilson, upon meeting Ford’s Ross, stated, ‘I have to admit, I’m still getting used to the new look’, to which he replies that they told him to lose the mustache or lose the election.

On one end, they seem excited about the movie, but they are also curious if Red Hulk’s presence means that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will return or if Red Hulk is stronger than Green Hulk. There has been no mention of either of the two. Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled for release in 2025.
