“He sent me this very long, generous text”: Mark Ruffalo’s Heartwarming Gesture Towards a New Fantastic Four Star Proves He’s the Nicest Avenger of All Time
- Mark Ruffalo is known to be one of the kindest actors in Marvel.
- He texted Ebon Moss-Bachrach and welcomed him into the MCU as he was cast as the Thing.
- Both Hulk and Thing are brought alive on screen using motion capture technology.
The Marvel fandom is still wondering why Mark Ruffalo has been robbed of an exclusive Hulk movie. He’s the sole Avenger without a solo project since Black Widow got her own movie and Hawkeye enjoyed a full TV show. Ruffalo’s take on Hulk has been immensely entertaining from his comic timing to his incredible smashing energy.
However, the actor has more to his skill than just being angry and punching things out of the way. Ruffalo has been known to be a graceful and humble human being, surpassing all standards of kindness and goodness for the world.
Mark Ruffalo gives a warm welcome to Thing actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe moves ahead, it expands to welcome new characters and actors into its burgeoning fold. For some, it might be intimidating to be a part of something so massive that it spans numerous movies and even television series with an intricate connection tying it all.
So, when the cast for the upcoming Fantastic Four was announced, actor Mark Ruffalo made a point to welcome the actors into the MCU. He texted Bachrach specifically because he was going to have a similar experience as Ruffalo did with Hulk. Bachrach said at the Comic-Con,
I got a really nice text message from Mark Ruffalo just to demystify the process of motion capture because I’ve never done it before. He sent a long, generous text message taking a way a bit of how I was scared of the technology.
Ruffalo’s kindness allowed Bachrach to breathe a sigh of relief as he finally felt familiarized with the complicated process. Moreover, Marvel Studio’s innate need to maintain secrets and keep details under wraps can also often be overwhelming. The 13 Going on 30 actor has often been known for his humble and sweet demeanor, being the polar opposite of the forever-angry Hulk that he plays in the Marvel movies.
How does Marvel animate Hulk in movies?
Marvel Studios is one of the most advanced and technically skilled production houses. From massive visual effects to grand sets, the Marvel movies and visual spectacles leave their viewers mesmerized. Moreover, they leave no stone unturned while featuring the signature characters and their superior powers. Hulk, and now the Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four will use motion capture technology to come to life on screen.
Avengers: Endgame took Hulk’s character to another level as we saw a mixture of Bruce Banner and Hulk with Ruffalo’s face and personality attached. The appearance was that of Hulk’s but the intelligence of Banner prevailed too.
Capturing Ruffalo’s facial expressions and appearance, the visual effects team then merged it with Hulk’s massive green appearance. Ruffalo enacted all his scenes in a motion capture suit and helmet with a camera attached to his head. Thing’s scenes are also expected to be shot similarly, hence Ruffalo’s words of kindness helped Bachrach leave his worries behind.
Fantastic Four is set to release on July 25, 2024.
