‘He started shooting….I didn’t want to move too quickly’: Kylie Jenner to Testify in Tory Lanez-Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial
According to reports, Kylie Jenner could be a new witness against Tory Lanez in Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting trial. In July 2020, The Color Violet singer was charged with allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot after a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s mansion. This week marks the beginning of the rapper’s assault trial after more than two years with jury selection in Los Angeles.
Additionally, there are reports that Tory Lanez’s lawyer, George Mgdesyan, may call Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, to testify as a defense witness since he was also reportedly at Kylie Jenner’s party at the time of the alleged shooting. The trial is scheduled to begin on December 12 and last for ten days.
Kylie Jenner Could Be A New Witness Against Tory Lanez
The Canadian rapper, Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, known professionally as Tory Lanez, 30, is accused of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and concealing a firearm in a vehicle. A conviction could result in a 12-year prison sentence for the 30-year-old.
A heated argument between the 30-year-old hip-hop star and Megan Thee Stallion broke out in July 2020 while they were both in LA. According to reports, they were both in Lanez’s SUV, along with Kelsey Harris, Stallion’s former assistant. Following Lanez’s gunshot, Stallion allegedly asked the driver to stop. Megan Thee Stallion allegedly injured her foot and had to undergo surgery. They were returning from Kylie Jenner‘s pool party when they were involved in the incident. Despite some persuasion, she got back into the car, but the arguing worsened, so she left again.
In light of Lanez’s not-guilty plea, the case could take a tricky turn, bringing the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s name onto a list of potential defense witnesses.
Previously, the Savage artist told CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King that she heard a man screaming during the argument, “Dance b***h.”
She added,
“He is standing up over the window shooting and I didn’t even want to move I didn’t want to move too quick cause I’m like, ‘Oh my God if I take the wrong step I don’t know if he’s going to shoot me and kill me.”
“I was really scared because I had never been shot at before. And I looked down at my feet cause the adrenaline is pumping so hard I wasn’t sure if he hit me. I can feel it but I wasn’t sure what was happening.”
“And so I look down at my feet and I’m like ‘Oh my God, I’m really bleeding.'”
Megan Thee Stallion allegedly claimed that Tory Lanez offered her $1 million in exchange for silence about the incident.
Tory Lanez Faces New Felony Charge Ahead Of Shooting Trial
To compound the charges against the R&B singer Tory Lanez, just days before he is due to go on trial in Los Angeles over whether or not he shot Megan Thee Stallion, prosecutors reportedly have added a third felony charge to the charges against him.
Adding a new count of gross negligence to the trial is a new charge brought by the LA district attorney’s office on Monday, with jury selection already underway. Previously, Lanez faced a charge of assault with a firearm and a charge of gun possession.
In the weeks leading up to the trial, Lanez was under house arrest until he was released as jury selection began, and they found Lanez not guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Reports state that prosecutors declined to comment beyond confirming the new charge.
