“He’s going there to support his dad”: Prince Harry Goes Against Meghan Markle’s Wishes to Attend King Charles Coronation After Memoir Teared Down Royal Family
The royal family has often garnered media attention for its family disputes. Currently, the family is all set for King Charles’s coronation. The family will be seen together at the event, except for a few members. As per the sources, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, won’t make an appearance at her father-in-law’s coronation.
However, her husband, Prince Harry, will be there to support his father. Previously, Prince Harry launched a memoir that was among the best sellers in the UK. But the memoir raised concerns in the royal family and made headlines.
Why is Prince Harry attending the coronation without Meghan Markle?
Headlines about King Charles‘ coronation have surfaced on the internet. Interestingly, the hot topic here is not the King’s coronation but the fact that his daughter-in-law will be absent from the event. King Charles’ son Prince Harry would attend the coronation without his wife Meghan Markle. While the Duchess of Sussex stays back in California with her children, Prince Harry will mark his presence at the coronation to support his father on his big day. Unfortunately, the most anticipated reconciliation of the royal family won’t happen this time. A source close to the royal family said,
“At this point, it’s become so personal. Maybe what they wanted wasn’t achieved, but at the end of the day, he’s going there to support his dad.”
Markle’s absence from the event is currently making a fuss around the internet, as people are presuming it to be another family feud. Although it’s reported that Markle won’t be able to attend the coronation as her son Archie’s 4th birthday coincides with the date of the coronation, Markle wants to stay with her son on his birthday and celebrate it at home. Still, it is speculated that Archie’s birthday is a pretext to not attend King’s coronation. The royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People,
“It’s an elegant solution, that Archie’s birthday gave them a reasonable out for Meghan not to come.”
Another source added,
“It would have been quite significant if Harry hadn’t attended his father’s coronation, but I’m not surprised Meghan isn’t going given the circumstances.”
Like any other normal family, the Royal family also faces family disputes, but eventually, things got so out of hand that Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties in 2020.
Prince Harry’s memoir concerned the royal family
Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was released on January 10, 2023, and became the best-selling book in the UK. Amidst many other tensions in the family, Prince’s book raised major concerns in the family. The fact that troubled the members of the royal family was that the book revealed the disputes and personal tension inside the royal house, as observed by Prince Harry.
The memoir caught the media’s attention, and the royal family came into the spotlight. Following the popularity of Prince Harry’s book, King Charles got affected in the worst manner possible. The 74-year-old King was disheartened after knowing that his son accused the royal family of disloyalty and media manipulation in his memoir.
The royal family was last spotted together at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
