As DCEU is gearing up for the Aquaman sequel, much information about the film has been coming to light since the announcement of the movie as it was teased at the cinema this year. The film was undoubtedly one of the biggest superhero films with a worldwide box-office earning amounting to a billion dollars.

Jason Momoa who plays Aquaman did express his surprise at the first film’s success. And it seems that the first film had been much more difficult to film than the second installment. And it was all a result of the lack of better water technology and equipment.

Aquaman Said To Have Been Much More Difficult to Film Than Its Sequel

One of the most popular names in the industry at the moment Jason Momoa has undoubtedly delivered one of his best performances as the titular DC hero Aquaman. And as the sequel Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom to the 2018 Aquaman is on its way this year, much is anticipated.

This time Momoa also took part in the scriptwriting process as he revealed back in January this year. According to the Game of Thrones alum, he mostly included talks with the U.N. surrounding the issue of melting ice caps in his “50-page treatment”.

However, the actor opens up in the Men’s Health cover story that most of what he wrote in the treatment was not followed completely in the film. As for playing the role, Momoa has shared that the character is one of the “hardest in comic book history”. And praising the character he said

“He’s made fun of and ridiculed, but I tried to give it heart and soul, and I’m proud of it in certain ways.”

Furthermore, the director James Wan also revealed some glimpses of the filmmaking process. According to the director, the sequel was much easier for the actors to film as there is much better underwater technology available these days.

DCEU is finally returning with the Aquaman sequel this year. Jason Momoa will be returning as Arthur Curry/Aquaman. The upcoming film will see the hero face some old and some new dangers. The main antagonist will be David Kane/Black Manta, the high-seas mercenary. Aquaman will have to fight off these evil forces to save his kingdom of Atlantis.

Some new characters are appearing in the sequel such as Pose and the Sentimentos. Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom is slated to release on 20 December this year.
