“He’s refining his vision”: Not Interstellar or Inception, Cillian Murphy Says Oppenheimer is Christopher Nolan’s Greatest Work of Art
Director Christopher Nolan, who is one of the best directors in the industry currently, is all set to serve us with another piece of his work which is most awaited. It’s a high-anticipated biographical movie that explores the role of science in determining the fate of all human life.
No doubt this upcoming film by Christopher Nolan is another blockbuster and is all set to astonish the viewers with its extraordinary approach and concept. This movie, unlike other thrillers, is based on the life of physicist, Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer, and explains the relationship between science and human life in this historical drama.
Christopher Nolan’s Tour De Force
Oppenheimer, the upcoming movie of Christopher Nolan, is his own adaptation of Martin J. Sherwin and Kai Bird’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 2005 book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist and director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II. He is often credited as the Father of the Atomic Bomb for his role in the Manhattan Project, the research and development undertaking that created the first nuclear weapons. The titular role is played by Cillian Murphy who is poised between the shock and aftershock of the terrible revelation, as one character calls it, of a divine power.
“I think he’s refining his vision as a filmmaker,” Murphy told Slash Film when asked about Nolan’s evolution as a filmmaker. “I think if you look at the progression of the films, I think this may be his magnum opus.” Murphy cherishes his collaboration with Nolan as it gives a good impact on his professional growth. He further added,
“I’ve gone off and made lots of other work, but I love coming back to work with Chris. There is no set that runs as smoothly and as calmly, and as efficiently as a Chris Nolan set. I’ve never been on a set like that. Everyone is laser-focused on their work.”
A-listers like Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr are also a part of the project.
Oppenheimer is Generating Tremendous Buzz
Quite a few movies are immensely talked about before their release, and out of those few is the World War II science epic, Oppenheimer, which is predicted to be one of the best films of the year with a massive box office potential. As a conceptual movie that will blow the minds of the viewers with its startling visuals and amazing cast, the movie has been shot with an IMAX 70mm camera, which will offer a world-class viewing experience. Even without the 3D glass, viewers can feel the 3D effect. Its unique approach by Nolan defines the authenticity and dedication of the film.
In an interview, Nolan said,
“One is in color, and that’s Oppenheimer’s subjective experience. That’s the bulk of the film. Then the other is a black-and-white timeline. It’s a more objective view of history from a different character’s point of view.”
The film features two different timelines and perspectives for which some part of the movie is black and white and some in color. Isn’t it gonna be thrilling to watch? We definitely think so.
