“He’s the kid brother I never had”: Kelly Ripa Debunked Ryan Seacrest Romance Rumors, Claimed Their Friendship is “Unique” Amidst Rumored Mark Consuelos Marriage Troubles
If you’ve been a consistent viewer of Live With Kelly and Ryan, you know about the fantastic chemistry between the hosts, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest share. Additionally, the Let’s Get Physical actress also revealed that her close relationship with Seacrest continues off the screen as well. The show is never the same without the two of them together, even though a more than capable replacement is happy to step in when one of them has to leave.
This is a result of Ripa and Seacrest having a very ‘unique’ relationship. Ripa went so far as to refer to him as the “kid brother I never had” during an appearance on the Dear Gabby podcast.
The 20-plus year relationship between the two is evident when they are together on screen. Ripa acknowledges that they can essentially read each other’s minds at this point, despite the fact that their broadcast industry experience has little to do with that savvy.

Given that Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest co-host the talk show Live With Kelly And Ryan, it is not surprising that Ryan Seacrest is Kelly Ripa’s ‘professional spouse.’ Given their close relationship, many fans assumed that the two had been dating prior to Marion Jones: Press Pause actress’ marriage to Mark Consuelos in 1996. But given that she only referred to him as a brother, the obvious answer to these rumors is no.
She revealed to People that her friendship with Seacrest has lasted for more than 20 years, calling it “unique. We’ve known each other for a really long time. He’s the kid brother I never had.”
Kelly Ripa also talked about how well they get along because they can read each other without having to say much. She continued, “So we’ve known each other, we trust each other, and we respect each other. We have a really unique off-camera friendship … which doesn’t happen very often.” Ripa stated on the Gabby Bernstein podcast that “we knew that going in.”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have a unique love story in Hollywood. The two met in 1995 while working as love interests on the soap opera All My Children. Their on-screen romance developed into something more long-lasting, and they made their public debut as a couple at the Soap Opera Digest Awards in February 1996. After two months, the couple briefly broke up. Contrarily, Ripa admitted on a 2018 episode of the Comments by Celebs podcast that she and Consuelos had eloped to Las Vegas a week earlier.
She admitted, “Right before we got married, we broke up… And we got back together the day before … we went to Vegas and got married.”
While appearing on Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2022 (according to People), Ripa discussed her hasty marriage to Consuelos and said she didn’t regret their choice to eschew the traditional wedding ceremony. “We probably wouldn’t have made it to the wedding,” she thought.
“There would have been hard feelings and blame all over the place. And I can honestly say we do not feel less married. As a matter of fact, we feel more married than those people because we’re still married.” The celebrity mentioned that their total wedding costs, including airfare, were just $179. Since then, their kids Michael, Lola, and Joaquin have joined the couple’s family.
