Matt Damon Reportedly Can No Longer Support Ben Affleck’s Marriage With Jennifer Lopez
This goes back to the early 2000s when Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez starred in the 2003 rom-com Gigli. Since then their relationship has made enough headlines, from their engagement to backing off from marriage. However, the two stars, after marrying different people and having kids, are finally back together as a married couple. Bennifer has often been seen making their way into headlines due to their relationship.
Apart from Bennifer, Affleck’s friendship with Matt Damon is also considered one of the most cherished comrades in Hollywood. However, this friendship seems to be facing challenges, and the reason behind it? Reportedly none other than the Air star’s wife, JLo. According to Radar Online‘s report, an insider has revealed the true picture behind All I Have maker and the Deep Water star.
“It feels like history repeating itself because 20 years ago they stopped talking for the exact same reason. But Matt can’t keep quiet, even if it means alienating Ben. Seeing his pal out there posing on one red carpet, totally playing up this role as J Lo’s arm candy, makes Matt nauseous. He can’t stand to see her emasculate Ben. But after Matt called him out on it, Ben started pulling back.”
According to the insider, Damon has always had reservations about Jenifer Lopez, and he has been with Affleck since he started dating the pop star in the early 2000s. The Stillwater star suspects JLo is extremely controlling and dominant towards her husband, which has troubled Damon, as he no longer thinks that the couple’s marriage will last in the long term.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are set for their upcoming movie, but before that, the On The Floor hitmaker revealed having post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) soon after he started dating the actor in the early 2000s. Lopez shared that their relationship earned immense attention and the rumors made it even worse. The pop star battled with stress after facing media scrutiny, and while talking to Variety, she added:
“As artists, we have to follow our heart and this is me following my heart and doing something that maybe everybody didn’t think was the best idea, but I had to do it.”
The media pressure caused the couple to cancel their marriage in 2003, but now that they have reconciled, Lopez is all set for her next album This is Me…Now which comes 20 years after its sister album This Me…Then. Despite the divorce rumors and controversies, the couple has committed to staying genuine with their relationship and art.
