“History is repeating itself”: Matt Damon Reportedly Pissed Off at ‘Controlling’ Jennifer Lopez for Making Best Friend Ben Affleck Miserable

When one has a friend who lives only two blocks away and shares the same interests as them and then, years later, goes on to win a highly prestigious award with them as a part of the same industry, the relationship they have obviously turns into more than just friendship.

Even so, this relationship has been through ups and downs and is once again, going through a rough patch due to Ben Affleck’s marriage with Jennifer Lopez. An insider has recently shed light on the bromance.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Bromance Is Having Troubles
Friendship is one of the most precious relationships one can have in their life. It is not every day that one finds true friends. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck know that they are irreplaceable in each other’s lives and have often admitted it publicly. Despite this, when Damon voiced his concerns about the way Jennifer Lopez treats the Gone Girl star, his friend did not take it well.

This is not the first time that the Good Will Hunting stars have gone through a tough time because of Affleck’s relationship with Lopez. According to an insider who opened up to National Enquirer (via RadarOnline) Damon was not too happy about it two decades ago, and things have not changed now.
The insider has made some revelations to the outlet about the wedge in Damon and Affleck’s bromance. They said:
“It’s no secret Ben and J Lo haven’t been getting along, as he always seems to be in the doghouse. It’s obvious something needs to change, but when Matt started giving Ben advice, he totally blew up. It feels like history repeating itself because 20 years ago they stopped talking for the exact same reason. But Matt can’t keep quiet, even if it means alienating Ben.”
Apparently, Matt Damon is only trying to be a good friend. However, Ben Affleck is in a difficult position because it is his best friend on one hand and his wife on the other.
Matt Damon Was Never A Fan of Ben Affleck’s Relationship with Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s relationship came to an abrupt ending in early 2004 after they called off their wedding in September 2003 due to media notoriety. After rekindling their romance in 2021, they did not take too long to get married, but now and then, the Hollywood rumor mill claims that they are having issues in their marital life.
The insider also told the National Enquirer that Matt Damon never really liked Ben Affleck’s relationship with the Mother actress. They said:
“Matt’s had serious reservations about Bennifer 2.0 since the beginning. He’s tried to be publicly supportive for Ben’s sake, but the fact is he hates the way J Lo treats his buddy and can no longer hold his tongue.”
Considering how long Damon and Affleck have been friends, it is understandable that he is trying to help his friend. Only time will tell if Affleck and Damon’s bromance will make it out unscathed through this tough time.
