This weekend Good boys superseded Hobbs and Shaw on the box office by topping the chart. Although this happened, it is actually great news for Universal Studios, since both shows belong to the same said production house.

Disney has a tight hold on box office this year thanks to some of its major hits. Even as Disney has six movies on the way for 2019, it is still leading in the box office, all credits go to Avengers: Endgame and The Lion King. However, Universal is not far behind and is the second spot, with hits like Good Boys and Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw.

Hobbs and Shaw doing quite well

Although surpassed by Good Boys, Hobbs and Shaw stars idols like Dwayne Johnson(“The Rock”), and other superstars including Roman Reigns and Idris Elba. The movie made quite the earning; its collection adding up to more than 3.8 million USD. Fans loved the movie, just as they have loved the previous Fast and Furious movies, probably even more.

Being one of the top comedy releases this year, Good Boys is a major success. In addition to this, Deadline becomes the sixth movie to take up the top position, tying with Disney, which has forever been dominant and omnipresent.

Big success for Good Boys

Universal has become the first studio to top the charts twice in 2019 with an original movie. Good Boys is one while Hobbs and Shaw becomes the other hit. The R-rated comedy received an 83% on PostTrak and 80% on Rotten Tomatoes to ensure word-of-mouth traffic on its way to number one.

Good Boys, directed by Gene Stupnitsky, stars Jacob Tremblay, Brady Noon, Keith L. Williams, Will Forte, and Molly Gordon, is in theatres now.
