Director Louis Leterrier Gets All Creative to Conceal Dwayne Johnson’s Cameo in Dark Post-Credits Scene
The director of Fast X, Louis Leterrier had to get all creative to hide Johnson’s cameo in the post-credit scene. Talking about this in an interview Leterrier explained how he had to bring out all of his creative ideas just to hide Johson in the post-credit scene.
Talking about this Leterrier experienced how it was hard to make Jonhson unrecognizable which is quite explainable. For any fan or Hollywood nerd, it will not be difficult to recognize The Rock even from his shadow. This made Leterrier’s job more difficult and he decided to opt for a clever approach and alter the tone to keep the viewers engaged, which eventually led him to just go with something dark.
“It’s a scene in its own context as we just go from something really dark,” he says of the ending of the movie. “The moment you film Dwayne Johnson, in any shape or form, you recognize it’s Dwayne Johnson, so I was like, ‘How can I change the tone?’ Hide it in the shadows, put a mask on, and use lights and flares so you’re distracted by the filmmaking. So, you’re not focusing on who the camera is filming and what the camera is pointed at. That was the idea.”
All of the directors’ hard work has indeed paid off as fans are more than excited for the rumored spin-off which includes their beloved character Luke Hobbs aka Dwayne Johnson.
