“How can my n*pples offend you that much?”: Florence Pugh Unfazed After ‘Small Br—sts’ Comments from Salty Fans for Her Revealing Pink Dress
This year’s winter issue of Vogue features Florence Pugh on the cover page. The Black Widow star is wearing a fitted chartreuse Proenza Schouler dress complimented with earrings as she strolls through a bodega on her way to the food market. Last year, the 27-year-old actor wore a fuschia Valentino designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli when she attended the fashion house’s couture show in Paris.
She was undoubtedly donning the outfit as usual. But, there was quite a stir when the Don’t Worry Darling star wore a see-through gown to the haute couture Valentino show in Paris.
And some people criticized her for the provocative nature of the outfit. It exposed Pugh’s n*pples, according to slammers, and they started body-shaming her. The actress discussed the ‘needless’ debate over the sheer dress during a recent interview with Vogue.
Florence Pugh voices against critics over sheer Valentino dress
The Hollywood superstar, Florence Pugh is incredibly self-aware and bold enough to muse on rebelling against the negative spotlight she received, particularly in the previous year. When the Lady Macbeth actress wore unconventional sheer outfits that seemed to have people commenting immediately; made her challenge conventional ways of being.
The Attack of the Hollywood Clichés! actress came under fire from followers after sharing an Instagram photo of the dress, with some trolls even saying she “deserved to get r*ped” for baring her n*pples.
In response to a question from Vogue about her opinion of wearing sheer fabrics,
“I’ve never been scared of what’s underneath the fabric. If I’m happy in it, then I’m gonna wear it. How can my n*pples offend you that much? It’s very important that we do this.”
She later added, in reference to the abhorrent remarks she had received,
“But if a dress with my br*asts peeking through is encouraging people to say. Well, if you were to get r*ped, you would deserve it,’ it just shows me that there’s so much more work to do.”
A few months prior, Pugh wrote a lengthy Instagram post addressing haters and defending the dress. She said,
“There was no way there wouldn’t be a commentary on it. Whether it be negative or positive, we all knew what we were doing. I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous. Before, during, or even now after, I wasn’t.
What has been fascinating to observe, according to the actor, is “just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see.”
She gets vocal about her relationship with ex Zach Braff
In a later segment, the Midsommar actress discussed her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Zach Braff in detail while reflecting on the unpredictable nature of her successes. She stated, “We weren’t in anyone’s faces,” when describing her time spent with the actor and director Braff.” Simply put, people didn’t like it.
On the other hand, Braff didn’t stop himself from praising his ex-girlfriend in an interview for the Vogue cover.
“I quite simply think she’s one of the greatest actors of her generation,” he said. “She’s just magnetic. You cannot take your eyes off of her.”
On the work front, they collaborated on the upcoming movie A Good Person, in which Braff, himself is a director and stars Pugh in the title role.
The pair began dating in 2019 and ended their relationship sometime in 2022, despite having a 20-year age gap.
