Alex Fine responds to 2016 hotel footage of Sean Diddy Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura

In November 2023, the singer-actress model took a bold step to file a lawsuit against Diddy after years of silence and darkness. She said in a statement to The New York Times that she is finally ready to tell her story and speak up on behalf of herself and for the benefit of other women who have gone through abuse or violence in their respective relationships.

After the multi-million lawsuit was settled outside court, leaked footage from a hotel dated 2016 was posted on CNN in which Diddy was seen grabbing, shoving, and kicking Ventura. (via People) Cassie Ventuara’s claims from her lawsuit mirrored what the audience saw in the leaked footage. Alex Fine took to his social mkedia to stand up for his wife and wrote,

Men who hit women aren’t men. Men who enable it and protect those people aren’t men. As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable; check your brothers, your friends, and your family. Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives should feel protected and loved. Hold the women in your life with the utmost regard. Men who hurt women hate women.

Alex Fine apologized to the survivors by writing that he’s sorry that they have to live in a world where they are not protected and don’t feel equal, adding that he wants to raise his daughters in a world where they feel safe and loved.

Sean Diddy apologized after the footage went viral, taking responsibility for his actions back then (via NBC News). He has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him and is currently kept on a suicide watch. He was reportedly denied bail twice.

The first hearing for the trial is scheduled for October 9, 2024.
