James Cameron attended the screening of Avatar: The Way of Water in Los Angeles. The renowned director ignored a crowd of fans waiting outside the WGA building for an autograph after seeing his new movie. He sped passed the group of people wanting him to autograph their stuff. The angry fans turned on the Oscar-winning director. When the filmmaker was escorted to his black car a person shouted, “F–k ‘Avatar.” The yelling continued for a few minutes. The 68-year-old director rolled down his tinted window and revealed his middle finger to the shouting mob. 

This incident led to division among fans. Some called him a “jerk” and “annoying.” While there were others who consider him a legend. They referred to the booing people as his fake fans. The fans in support of the Canadian filmmaker took to Twitter. A person wrote,

“They were fake fans ready to resell autographed stuff 100%. The embarrassing way they reacted to his refusal proves that. Jim was right for ignoring them let’s be serious,”

Another one chimed in saying, “How in the hell was he wrong here? He has full rights to not give autographs.”

One of the tweets read. “Honestly, everytime I see something about James Cameron online is either something about him being a narcissist or a bad person in general.”

Some people were not surprised by the filmmaker’s actions. They said people defend him because he makes great movies. The director recently revealed that the inspiration for his newly awaited movie came from his personal struggles.

The movie is still running and has gained a solid amount at the box office.

The domestic intake of Avatar 2’s opening weekend was $134 million, while the international market added $300 million. This has brought the global total to $434 million and counting. The figure seems good enough for now.
