Hypnotic’s Poor Marketing to be Blamed for $2.4 Million Opening Weekend, Worst Ever for a Ben Affleck Movie
Ben Affleck’s much-awaited movie Hypnotic finally hit the big screen on 12 May 2023. There was a lot of excitement about this film as Affleck was again coming back into action. Affleck fans were looking forward to this movie since the trailer was launched last month on 3 April 2023.
The trailer got a lot of appreciation and many people thought his movie was going to get a big opening. Unfortunately, Affleck’s movie isn’t doing well at the box office.
Ben Affleck’s Hypnotic has only earned $2.4 million since its release
Ben Affleck played a fearless father in Hypnotic who is looking for his missing daughter. Since the trailer launch the movie looked great to all the Affleck fans. There was a good amount of thriller and action in the movie still Hypnotic’s performance at the box office isn’t great. Since the release of the movie, it has only earned $2.4 million. This makes Hypnotic one of the low-earning films of Affleck.
Hypnotic is directed by Robert Rodriguez, wanted to work on this movie for a very long time but due to Covid, there were endless hurdles coming up during the making of the movie. Hypnotic’s failure at the box office has shocked the makers of the movie reportedly. As per reports, the marketing team of the movie is being held responsible for such a bad response. The critics are appreciating the Batman actor’s performance but the movie isn’t making much money globally.
Director Robert Rodriguez explains why he named the movie Hypnotic
Affleck’s movie Hypnotic came across many problems during the making. The makers started filming the movie before Covid but the movie took some time to release because of other legal problems as well. While talking about the movie during an interview, Rodriguez talked about how he thought of naming the movie Hypnotic, he said,
“I came up with the title, I was trying to think of a cool Hitchcock title that he hadn’t used and Hypnotic popped in my head. I was like, “What movie would he make, what’s a title he would use if he’d kept making movies for another 10 years?
He further added,
“Hypnotic, what does that mean? I don’t want to make a movie about hypnosis, maybe a Hypnotic is someone who has a power way beyond that, you won’t find out what that power is until like the last frame, how far it can go.”
Rodriguez also mentioned he took many big risks for this film. There were many changes that the director did after Covid during the filming of the movie. As per reports, Rodriguez made many changes to the movie scenes also. The makers of the movie or Affleck have not yet commented on the movie’s bad performance at the box office.
