“I can see this being potentially huge for Marvel”: Logan, Blade Runner 2049, and Now Midnight Sons, Michael Green Joins Exciting New MCU Project
The Hollywood rumor mill has recently churned out a new update on the MCU project Midnight Sons. It has been one of the most anticipated team-up projects. So far, Marvel Studios has brought superhero teams like Avengers, Eternals, Guardians of the Galaxy, and numerous other such teams to the screens.
In 2019, besides Fantastic Four, the company also got the rights to X-Men. There is no official information regarding X-Men and Midnight Sons getting a live-action movie or series. While it remains to be seen which of these will come first, a new update on a project involving the latter might excite fans of the superhero team. Reportedly, Michael Green is writing the script for the project featuring the team.
Michael Green is Allegedly Working on a Script for MCU’s Midnight Sons
The Midnight Sons/Suns is a team of supernatural superheroes in the Marvel Universe. The original members of the team are Ghost Riders Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze, Blade, and Morbius. Over the years, the team kept expanding to include other superheroes with ties to the occult or supernatural. Some of the recurring members of the team are Doctor Strange, Werewolf by Night, and Elsa Bloodstone among others.
Recently, Nexus Point News reported that Michael Green, who penned the script for Blade Runner 2049, is working on the script for the project involving the supernatural superhero team. Green is no stranger to writing scripts for the superhero genre as he has previously worked on Logan and most recently, the MCU movie Blade. X user Syriangeekvibes has expressed their hope for the project after this news broke.
Green is undoubtedly a great script writer and one of his most successful projects is the Netflix series Blue Eye Samurai. In addition to this, he has also worked on writing the scripts for Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot trilogy of mystery films. As far as a Midnight Sons project is concerned, there has been no official announcement so any reports are to be taken with a grain of salt.
Which Superheroes Are Going to Show Up in the Potential Midnight Sons Movie?
Now that there is news regarding the writer who could possibly be working on the project, some might wonder which members will be included in the team. Although there is no confirmed information regarding the cast of the project too, scooper Alex Perez made some claims not so long ago.
In a Q&A session for The Cosmic Circus, Perez dished out what he has heard about the members that might get included in the movie/series.
I’ve heard Wong, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Night, & Man-Thing as the most repeated names by sources as part of the team roster. Other names I’ve heard, from most to least likely, include Black Knight, Scarlet Scarab, Elsa Bloodstone, Dr. Strange, and even Agatha Harkness.
Perez also said that the team line-up would probably include 6 to 9 heroes. It will include Oscar Isaac, who portrayed the Moon Knight, as Perez claimed that his character had the chance to return to the MCU through Midnight Sons (via GeekHouseShow). Hence, as things stand, the chances of the movie being under development seem probable.
