Taylor Swift says her eyes turned into hearts when she saw Benjamin Button on the sets of Me!
Singer Taylor Swift who has proudly embraced the aesthetic of a cat lady appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the promotion of her 2017 album Reputation. During her conversation, she dwelled upon her music video Me! With Brendon Urie and spoke about her beloved cat Benjamin Button who was an actor cat on the set. She shared,
“He was a little cat actor. They show up with this little kitten and his handler is like, ‘Do you want to hold him first?’ I was like absolutely I do. And so they hand me this tiny cat and I never really experienced a cat that the second I held this little kitten, he started purring like a motor.”
Swift continued,
“I was like, ‘Ok, whose cat is this? You’re really lucky whoever owns this cat. And the girl was like, ‘actually he doesn’t have a home.’ My eyes turned into hearts and I just immediately was like, ‘I can’t think about anything else.’ “
Taylor Swift also shared the story about meeting Benjamin during an Instagram live with Brendon Urie as she said via People,
“He was just a cute kitten who didn’t have home. The handler asked if I wanted to hold the cat and then she handed me this tiny cat and he just starts purring and looked at me like, ‘You’re my mom and we’re going to live together.’ He’s just the best boy. He’s the best little guy. ”
Benjamin Button who is a Ragdoll cat also appeared with Taylor Swift on her recent Time Magazine cover story where she was named Person of the Year 2023.

Taylor Swift says her cats inspired her to take the role in Cats
In her interview with Time Magazine in 2019, Taylor Swift said,
“I’m obsessed with them. They’re just a real joy to live with. They’re very dignified. They’re independent. They’re very capable of dealing with their own life.”
Swift’s famous cat Meredith Grey is a Scottish Fold named after Ellen Pompeo’s character Meredith Grey from Grey’s Anatomy. She brought Meredith in 2011 followed by Olivia Benson in 2014, another Scottish Fold. Lastly, Benjamin Button joined the family in 2019.
The singer who appeared in the movie Cats shared that when the role came up, she instantly thought that it was her calling in life to do this. The artist went to a proper Cat school to prepare for the role and learned to be as much of a cat as she could be.
