Fans Think Daemon’s Situation Is Similar to The Main Character in Luigi’s Mansion
House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel and spinoff, primarily follows the civil war between the Targaryens for control over the Iron Throne. This battle has divided the all-too-powerful family into two factions. One of them is the Green team or the Greens and the Black team or the Blacks.
Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), a member of the Blacks, is regarded as one of the most formidable Targaryens. In the second season, he is often seen at Harrenhal. Besides being the largest castle in Westeros, Harrenhal is infamous for being haunted.
This brings us to wonder why is Daemon at Harrenhal of places. Harrenhal is one of the most important locations in Westeros and so, it is important from a military point of view. Daemon having a hold on this haunted fortress is a demonstration of his strength and resolve, and gives the Blacks the upper hand on the Greens.
Throughout this season, viewers have witnessed how the cursed Harrenhal has taken a toll on Daemon who often gets visions that are not necessarily pleasant. A Redditor recently pointed out that Daemon’s situation is very similar to Luigi’s in the Nintendo game Luigi’s Mansion. In the game, Luigi encounters and captures various ghosts at the mansion.
Fans also mentioned that Luigi and Daemon are comparable in the fact that Luigi is quite a nurturing figure. Although timid, Luigi is protective of his family and friends which stands as proof of his caring nature.
On the other hand, Daemon treats his daughters rather harshly. He is depicted as a ruthless and highly ambitious character who has to constantly reassert his powers to protect his position. This often takes a toll on his relationship with his family members including his daughters.
House of the Dragon Might Have Taken Inc*st A Little Too Far with This One Thing
Inc*st is a theme that fans are well acquainted with when it comes to this show since marriages have happened between close relatives. However, things might have gone a little too far with this particular theme in the fifth episode of Season 2.
In this episode, Daemon had a spectral vision involving a woman he was making love to. It is only when said woman addressed him as her “favorite son” that fans realized that the woman Daemon was bedding in his hallucination was his mother Alyssa Targaryen (Emeline Lambert).
It has to be noted that Alyssa passed away when Daemon was only three years old so chances are that he did not have any recollection of her appearance and the woman he sees in his vision is a made-up version of her. All of his visions at Harrenhal have been rather strange, but this one has been the weirdest so far.
House of the Dragon is available for streaming on Max.
