“I completely fell apart”: 58 Year Old Brad Pitt is Still the Prince Charming as He Made ‘The Crown’ Star Olivia Colman Nervous on the Biggest Night of Her Professional Career
Olivia Colman is among some of the best actors in Hollywood and is known for her versatile and exceptional performances. The English actress excels at everything, whether it’s drama, comedy, or musical. After several nominations, she won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite. She has been working in the industry for a long time. However, she was still starstruck by the Fight Club star’s charm when she accidentally met him at a party. She shared the incident saying that she was speechless as Brad Pitt said that he is a big fan of the Tyrannosaur star.
Olivia Colman Was Speechless After She Met Brad Pitt
Olivia Colman won the Oscar for Best Actress at the 2019 Academy Awards for her portrayal of Queen Anne in The Favourite. The Father star gave a memorable speech. When she was asked about the speech, Colman agreed to be a little drunk and said she does not usually prepare her acceptance speeches beforehand.
The following year she once again attended the Academy Awards. Although she did not win any awards that night, Colman still has a memorable incident from the 2020 Oscars. She shared that she accidentally met the Babylon star Brad Pitt during the after-party of the 2020 Academy Awards.
Colman was speechless when she bumped into Brad Pitt and he told her he was a huge fan. “I completely fell apart. He came up to me and went ‘Huge fan’ – and I giggled. And then he just walked off,” Olivia Colman said.
It was the same night when Brad Pitt won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Sharing her experience she said that it all happened so quickly she was unable to form words as the Fury star said hello to her.

Olivia Colman Did Not Want to do Intimate Scenes in Empire of Light
Olivia Colman once again impressed everyone with her performance in Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light. The romantic drama that is written and directed by Sam Mendes follows the story of a theater manager named Hilary who falls in love with a younger Black employee named Stephen.
Based in 1980s England, the film portrays several social issues as Stephen facing racism and Hilary continuously resisting treatment for unspecified but debilitating mental health issues. The director also said that he wrote Hilary’s character with the Fleabag star in mind after seeing her performance as Queen Elizabeth II.
Olivia Colman also shared that he enjoyed filming Empire of Light. However, there were some intimate scenes she was not so comfortable with. “I did say (to Mendes), ‘Oh, do we have to have s*x scenes? I’m older than Micheal’s mum,’” she said in her interview with USA Today.
The Heartstopper actor said, “I’m terribly English about it. It just makes me feel embarrassed. I try to avoid s*x scenes at all costs.” But having an intimacy coordinator on set “was a total game changer for me. She took away the awkwardness and turned it into a dance routine.”
Empire of Light was released in select theatres on 9 December 2022.
