‘I could tell her story in the right way’: Stranger Things Star Millie Bobby Brown is Team Britney Spears, Wants To Turn Infamous Conservatorship Saga into a Movie
Britney Spears’ conservatorship saga is a tale known to all. The princess of pop rose to fame while quite young and in 2008, when she was only 27 years old – she was forcefully put under a court-mandated conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears. Millie Bobby Brown has called it her bucket-list wish to portray the pop star on screen sometime down the line.
The Stranger Things actress has confessed how she thinks playing Spears would be a dream role for her, something she has always wished for and something she feels she will do justice to.
Millie Bobby Brown wants to tell Britney Spears’ story
Millie Bobby Brown was recently a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show’s Monday episode, where she was asked by the host during their in-car interview, “In 10 years, what’s something on your bucket list as a producer, as a filmmaker?”
To this, the Enola Holmes star replied, “I wanna play a real person. And I think, for me, Britney… Britney Spears… I think her story, first of all, resonates with me.”
On being asked the reason by the Flipped actress, Brown said,
“Just growing up in public… Watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger. I mean, same thing with you.”
The 18-year-old here was alluding to Drew Barrymore‘s career as a child actor herself, in films like Firestarter and E.T. She further went on to describe the affinity she feels towards the Toxic singer,
“It’s like I see the scramble for words, and I don’t know her, but, when I look at pictures of her, I feel like I could tell her story in the right way. And hers only.”
The 47-year-old actress was quite impressed by the young talent before her and she complimented her, calling her “so wise, so magnanimous and so freakin’ cool.” Brown’s words do sound mind-blowingly mature for someone who is only 18 years old, but her success itself has been magnanimous since a very young age.

Although Millie Bobby Brown mentioned the Spears biopic as a thing in the possible future, it has given way to a lot of speculation already. The actress herself did not spare any particular details about what the project would specifically focus upon, vis-à-vis the part of the Work Bitch singer’s life that shall be portrayed on screen. However, keeping the actress’s age in mind, she will most likely be looking to play the young Britney Spears when she was at the top of her career.
Only time will tell if the biopic will ever come to be, as it is highly unlikely that the 40-year-old singer who is supposed to be the muse will give the rights. Spears has often said how done she is with the entertainment industry and how she wants nothing to do with it anymore. We shall wait and see if Millie Bobby Brown manages to fulfill her bucket list dream.
