“I couldn’t even walk”: Emily Blunt Was Devastated After Watching Her Own Film ‘Oppenheimer’
Emily Blunt is one of the most famous female actors around. She made her professional debut back in 2001. However, it wasn’t until 2006 that she rose to fame, thanks to her role in the British TV drama Gideon’s Daughter. Blunt won her first Golden Globe Award for her role in the drama.
In the same year, Emily Blunt starred in the fashion comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada which features Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep in lead roles. The movie became one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.
Most recently, Emily Blunt starred in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer which was released last year and it’s safe to say that fans weren’t the only ones left shunned after watching the movie.
Emily Blunt recalls not being able to walk after watching Oppenheimer
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer certainly left a mark on the Hollywood industry. Based on a true story, the movie is an emotional roller coaster that left audiences stunned.
Interestingly, the same was the case with Blunt who felt overwhelmed with emotions after watching the movie. During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Blunt recalled how she was unable to walk after watching the movie. She said:
“I felt like I couldn’t feel my legs after it. I just couldn’t even walk, it was so stunning, so emotional.”
Blunt’s statement came after Stephen Colbert recalled how he was silent for 5 minutes after watching the movie and did not know how to react to the masterpiece he had just watched.
Emily Blunt opens up on working with Christopher Nolan
Working with Christopher Nolan is certainly a dream come true for many actors. During an episode of Variety’s Actors On Actors, Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway spoke about their experiences with working with Nolan.
While speaking about how Christopher Nolan never tells his actors that he is happy with a scene but it becomes evident with his hair, Blunt said:
“I always feel that with Chris’ hair. I can tell when he is very happy with a take because his hair starts to dance. It’s almost like he vibrates when he’s happy. He’s not going to tell you that he’s that happy, though, because he’s very English.”
It’s safe to say that Blunt enjoyed her time working with Christopher Nolan in Oppenheimer. Moreover, the movie has certainly added a lot of credibility to her name as well.
