“I cried all night long because I was pregnant”: Jada Smith Hated Will Smith After She Got Knocked Up With Jaden
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are among the most beloved couples in Hollywood, having been married for over two decades and raising two children together. However, a recent video of Jada Smith’s Red Table Talk from 2018 has gone viral on social media where she revealed that she didn’t want to get married to her husband.
This revelation has brought to light the details of their early relationship, including the reason behind their marriage and the circumstances under which they welcomed their son, Jaden.
Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Details of Her Wedding With Will Smith
In the Red Table Talk episode, Jada Pinkett Smith talked about the moment she knew she was pregnant with Jaden, who was born seven months after she and the Bad Boys star tied the knot in December 1997.
“I knew the moment after the act that I was pregnant. The moment. It was almost like those big locks on the bank? Those big turning locks? I could feel that.”
“It was literally four seconds after we had s*x and she was like, ‘Gasp.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, you okay?’ And she was like, ‘I’m pregnant.’ And I was like, ‘Babe, I think scientifically you’re not pregnant.’”
Will Smith, however, thought it was a joke when she reacted negatively just seconds after they had s*x.

Jada Pinkett Smith, 47, revealed in the same episode that she never wanted to be married.
“I just never really agreed with the construct [of marriage]. I just don’t agree with it. I never have. I still don’t. ‘Til death do us part is real for me, but all the rules and all of the ideas… and what you can’t do because of this title ‘wife’ is a very difficult…the accepted conventional definition of wife and the paradigm, I’m not that.”
Jada Pinkett Smith said at the Red Table Talk,
“It was almost as if Gammy was like, you have to get married. I was under so much pressure being a young actress, being young, pregnant, I was just like, I didn’t know what to do. But I knew I never wanted to be married.”
But she got married to the Academy Award winner because of pressure from her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, who didn’t want them to have a baby out of wedlock.
The Wedding Blues and Aftermath
The couple’s wedding was not something Jada Pinkett Smith enjoyed. She even went crying down the aisle.
“I was so upset that I had to have a wedding,” she admitted. Her mother, Banfield-Jones, concurred, saying, “The wedding was horrible. Jada was sick. She was very unpleasant. She didn’t cooperate with anything at the wedding.” “And I was so upset that I had to have a wedding – I was so pissed I went crying down the freaking aisle. I cried the whole way down the aisle.”
“There wasn’t a day in my life that I wanted anything other than being married and having a family,” he said. “Literally five years old, I was picturing what my family would be.”
The actor, on the other hand, had always dreamt of being married and having a family.
Jada Pinkett Smith and the Bad Boys actor have been in the news recently for a variety of reasons. While the actress revealed that she didn’t want to get married to the Emancipation star and only did so because of pressure from her mother, the couple has been together for over two decades and has been transparent about their problems.
Jada Smith’s views on marriage and relationships are unconventional, and she has been both praised and criticized for them.
