“I did feel pressure to put him in this”: Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock Became a Trouble For James Gunn in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
James Gunn’s is roaring at the box office. The movie was released on 5 May 2023 and since then the movie is getting great reviews and appreciation for the storyline. The movie has earned $659.1 million in more than 2 weeks at the box office.
The cast and producers are quite pleased with how audiences have responded. James Gunn once again produced a huge hit, and according to reports, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 may surpass the financial milestone set by the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films. In his discussion of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 creation, Gunn revealed that he was pressured to incorporate one character.
James Gunn talks about Will Poulter’s character in the movie
James Gunn has always chosen the actors for his superhero movies very specifically keeping all the details in mind. While talking about Adam Warlock’s character, Gunn explained why he felt pressured to add Adam Warlock to the movie which is played by Will Poulter. The reason why Gunn was indecisive about the character was that he says the character Adam Warlock doesn’t understand the character, Gunn said Warlock is “definitely not a good guy” and he also said he “doesn’t understand life very well.”
The director of the movie also explained that Warlock was supposed to make its debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Gunn explained that he was the opposing force in the previous part, Gunn said,
“I think I did feel pressure to put him in this… A lot of the stuff was written for Vol. 2. Originally, Adam Warlock was in Vol. 2 and he was sort of the opposing force… I seem to always have a second force, right? So there’s like, in the first movie Yondu serves that position. He’s an alternate force. And in the second movie, Ayesha serves that position.”
For Gunn introducing Warlock’s character was a big task. It wasn’t easy for him. Although the character has limited screen time in the movie he still has a great impact.

Incorporating Warloc was difficult for Gunn but still brought out the best of the character on screen. His parts in the movie have a great impact on the storyline as well, Gunn said,
“Well there’s no doubt, it was Adam Warlock. Like, it was really difficult… I promised Adam at the end of the other movie. The High evolutionary has created Adam’s species. That was the way in.”
Warlocks was a big task for the makers and Gunn but the team did a great job as the character is also receiving a lot of appreciation. Poulter has done a great job as Warlock.
