“I don’t buy anything for myself”: Instagram Supermodel Jem Wolfie, Who Makes $30K A Day From OnlyFans, Said She Lives Like She’s Poor
You probably might haven’t heard of Jem Wolfie, WA’s first social media tycoon with 2.7 million Instagram followers, unless you are a male between the ages of 18 and 35. Yes, she had 2.7 million Instagram followers and was once one of OnlyFans’ biggest stars. However, the frequent posting of risqué selfies caused her account to be removed.
She started out as a self-described “naughty kid” at Helena College in the Perth Hills, posting her selfies to MySpace.
Wolfie worked 70 hours a week after graduating from high school to complete her chef apprenticeship at Feral quickly before accepting a position at Taylor’s Cafe in the Swan Valley. She credited Caroline Taylor, the owner of the cafe she had worked at, as having had a big influence on her modeling career.
At first, she learned about social media’s commercial potential by sharing pictures of her nutritious treats on Facebook. Her account had nearly 10,000 followers by 2015, and nearly 80% of them were young men.
In August of 2021, Wolfie came across the UK-based social media platform, OnlyFans through a Google search. OnlyFans lets content creators charge subscribers a monthly fee to view their content. She gained a lot of fans and fame by posting videos and photos on her social media platforms, which were greatly adored by many people.
However, the former chef did not find happiness in leading that luxury life. What was her happiness?
What Actually Made Jem Wolfie Happy?
Over the years, Jem Wolfie‘s multi-million dollar income has come exclusively from her OnlyFans page, where fans pay a monthly fee to access premium content.
In addition, the 31-year-old self-employed worker makes a respectable living from her own line of clothing and e-books, brand deals, and sponsorships on Instagram. As a result, it is not surprising that an Australian model from Perth was content with her situation. However, helping dogs makes the former chef happier, not living a life of luxury. Back in 2020, she told LADbible:
“I live like I’m poor and that’s important to know. I live a humble life; I don’t buy anything for myself.”
She continued:
“I can adopt dogs, homeless dogs, puppies… whatever dogs come my way, I can afford to help them, so that makes me happy.”
Growing a fanbase of more than 2.7 million people has drawbacks though. On one end of the spectrum, overly zealous fans can be a privacy risk. And on the other, she has to put up with daily abuse from a small group of keyboard warriors.
The worst part, according to her, was waking up each day to truly appalling messages and comments.
“Some days it can be draining when you’re constantly called fat. It can be exhausting to have negativity constantly shoved down your throat every day.”
She Hated Being Called An ‘Influencer’
Jem Wolfie has a theory about why some people seem to find it so offensive how the former Western Australia Basketball League player earned her living.
“Now I’m as happy as I could possibly be and I’m so focused on my business that I don’t even have a second to think about what other people are doing.”
With so many arrows in her quiver, Wolfie found it a little more challenging to describe her line of work in detail. She ain’t no “influencer,” that much is certain.
“I hate that word. I would never self-proclaim that I influence people and I hate it when people put ‘influencer’ in their f**ing bio... I’m a content creator – I create content. Everyone creates content, but mine’s quality content.”
The 31-year-old former basketball player, and chef, revealed in 2020 that she was earning an astounding $30,000 per day on OnlyFans.
However, also note that her Instagram account was terminated for sharing explicit images and for repeatedly breaking the rules and policies of the social media platform.
