Earlier this year, in June, actress Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet for the 75th Tony Awards 2024 in a strapless ruched gown, which revealed her arms and shoulders. Despite looking stunning in the outfit, insiders revealed that her friends are concerned about her health.
According to Radar Online, Jolie, who has a packed schedule, is a dotting mother to her six children she shares with ex Brad Pitt. The publication mentioned that insiders have revealed that her friends have urged the actress to eat her meals properly to fuel her body. They said,
She’s looking very thin, almost sickly, and probably doesn’t weigh more than 98 pounds. She’s either forgetting or unwilling to eat. Pals are afraid she won’t be able to carry on like this.
The actress underwent a preventative double mastectomy and a full hysterectomy after she tested positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation. The surgery can also result in extreme bone and muscle loss, according to Dr. Gabe Mirkin. A source also mentioned that her legal battle with Brad Pitt could have also added a lot of stress for her and she is one of those who either eats very less, or completely avoids food when under stress. However, according to In Touch Weekly, Jolie is not bothered by the comments or opinions about how she looks. A source stated,
She also knows that if she wears a revealing dress, everyone is going to talk about how she looks. She practically invites people to comment on her weight by wearing gowns like this that make her look so slim.
The first source added that it appears as if she is starving for attention, while the second source argued that the actress is just comfortable in her skin. They added that she appears confident and loves her body and is no longer afraid to flaunt it.
Angelina Jolie’s past comment on her physical appearance resurfaces
Back in 2012, during an interview with Examiner (via Eating Disorders), Angelina Jolie acknowledged her extreme weight loss by stating,
I am too thin. I don’t like that I’m that thin. If I could snap my fingers tomorrow and put on 15 pounds, I’d be so happy if it went in the right places.
The actress also shared that her weight loss can be the result of her lifestyle choices, as she chooses to be healthy and exercise to live longer and age gracefully. She shared with the publication that when she lost her mother, it became important for her to stay healthy and age gracefully.

Angelina Jolie recently walked the red carpet at the 81st Venice International Film Festival for her upcoming movie Maria’s world premiere. The movie, directed by Pablo Larraín and based on the life of Greek opera singer Maria Callas, according to Variety, received an 8-minute standing ovation.
She wore a gorgeous custom strapless beige gown by Tamara Ralph and carried a fur stole that covered her sleeves. She completed her look with a red lip matching her nails.
Maria does not have a release date yet.
