“I don’t want to show them a 14-inch d**k!”: Marvel Star Asked Director to Remove His Uncomfortable Gay Scene From His Movie
Michael Douglas, a well-renowned actor, Marvel Star, and movie producer has been in the Hollywood universe for decades. He made his popularity hit within the audience on his first appearance showing his outperforming acting for ABC’s special police procedural television series, The Streets of San Francisco for which the actor got nominated for straight three consecutive Emmy awards.

Similarly, after being in the industry for many decades recently the Marvel star has also cooked up a new recent critic where he was seen opening up to the fans and talking about how he faced issues while working in the shooting sets of his previously appeared movie, Behind the Candelabra.
Michael Douglas Reveals His Experience in Behind the Candelabra’s Set
It’s been nearly a decade since the Behind the Candelabra movie made its way to the theatres and after such a long time we have the star behind the cast, Liberace who shared his experience while shooting for the movie.
The movie gave its main focus on the LGBTQ community where both stars appeared to be starring as the gay character in the movie. Talking more about it, Michael Douglas said that he never had issues playing for a gay character but things for him went overboard while one of the scenes which was quite extreme for him to accept.
Furthermore, Douglas also said that he was very much aware of his role in the movie and infact he also revealed that he also wanted to make such a movie from back in the 2000s. Initially, the Academy Award winner for best director, Steven Soderbergh showed his interest to take up the role of Liberace for the movie and wanted Douglas to be cast for the movie, Traffic.
“I was cast in Traffic as a government drug-enforcement czar in a gray suit and tie. And Steven came up to me and wanted to know if I ever thought about playing Liberace,” Douglas states during an interview with Douglas. “I thought he was playing a game with me—like it was some mind-f*** trick to get me into the character. But I played along—I imitated Lee’s [as Liberace was known] voice briefly for him, and we went on with making Traffic.”
The Scene That Caused Concerns for Michael Douglas
After the shooting started the star was said to work alongside duo Golden Globe Award winner, Matt Damon. During the shoot, there was one of the scenes which he strongly felt should be removed from the movie as he said that one day this movie is something he will watch alongside his family too.
“Liberace loved s-x, and I didn’t have a problem with that. But, at one point, Steven Soderbergh wanted to show [Liberace] watching a gay porno,” he said. “I said, ‘I’d like my kids to see this R-rated movie, but I don’t want to show them a 14-inch d**k! It was the only thing I objected to, so we cut to different parts of the apartment during the porno.”
There was also one instance where Matt Damon tried to tackle shooting intimate scenes by imagining Douglas as his wife. While playing for another scene showing Matt Damon and Michael Douglas kissing each other.
Damon shared saying that to play this seen imagining Douglas was his wlesh actress wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. It was never easy for him but it was something which left the fans surprised too.
