Ana de Armas isn’t holding back when it comes to discussing her role in Eden. The 36-year-old described her character, The Baroness, as a whirlwind of extremes. One moment she’s as sweet as pie, the next, she’s a total dynamo.

The standout moment of her performance? A ‘crazy threesome relationship’ with two handsome actors, Felix Kammerer and Toby Wallace. Speaking to Vanity Fair, the Cuban-Spanish actress admitted she was a bit nervous about this daring part:

I got a little scared, and I told [Ron] I was nervous because it was really out there. He was very supportive and excited. There was no question I wanted to do it. I wanted the challenge.

De Armas was ready to take on the challenge, and she certainly did. She delved into every side of her character, from her timid, sweet moments to her unpredictable bursts.

Eden premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. However, the film doesn’t have an American distributor just yet, leaving fans in suspense about when they can see it in the U.S. This uncertainty might make the waiting a little longer.

However, for Ana de Armas, this film is a big departure from her recent work. After the mixed reviews of Ghosted and the praise for her role in Blonde, Eden is a daring new chapter for the Hollywood beauty.

It’s a shift from her action-packed roles in The Gray Man and Deep Water. Her next big project is the John Wick spinoff John Wick Presents: Ballerina, but that won’t hit theaters until June 2025 after some reshoots. Until then, Eden is definitely setting the stage for her next big move.

Eden premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2024.
