Talking about her experience on set for the movie, Hathaway recalls even blacking out in a few moments when she felt like her soul had left her body. The actress was recently featured on the cover of Vanity Fair, where she looked back at the trajectory of her acting career. People were not so woke back then and actors had to face the full force of media bullying and backlash for every tiny action. Hathaway shed light on a period in her life where she could not get any projects despite recently winning an Oscar. She elaborates how that was a contributing factor in itself,

“A lot of people wouldn’t give me roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online. I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of. I don’t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect. And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.”

Hathaway is grateful for Christopher Nolan’s belief in her abilities. The director-actor duo worked together on The Dark Knight franchise which later led to Nolan roping Hathaway in for a role in Interstellar. The magic they created on screen together is evident in every scene of the movie. Sometimes, all people need is a person who wholeheartedly believes in them. Nolan proved to be that person for Hathaway.
