Sydney Sweeney is the new up-and-coming superstar of her generation. At just 26 years of age, her list of achievements would put many to shame. She is best known for her breakout role as Cassie in HBO’s Euphoria. Although there was a laundry list of controversies surrounding the show, she truly shined and made a name for herself. She has earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for her spectacular performance in The White Lotus and is all set to make her MCU debut alongside Dakota Johnson in Madame Web.

In a recent interview, she opened up about how she had to struggle since she was very young to pay her own bills by becoming a Universal Studios tour guide.

Sydney Sweeney was recently a guest on the infamous show Hot Ones on the channel First We Feast, where the showrunner makes the guests eat wings with hot sauce that progressively gets spicier. While dealing with a tears-streaming-down-the-face level of spicy hot sauce, Sweeney took the time to catch her breath and open up about how she had been struggling since she was young, even before making her big break.

The show host asked Sydney Sweeney to confirm whether she worked at Universal Studios as a tour guide prior to hacking it in Hollywood and Sweeney owned her story. In a nonchalant manner, she said that she was a struggling actor in high school and her mother made her pay for her own expenses to let her build up a mature outlook towards finances.

“I was a struggling actor in high school and I had to pay my own bills cause my mom…I mean I love you mom, I love you so much…but yeah I would pay my phone bill, car insurance, uh everything, gas, and I am so glad she did cause I have learned how to budget and save my own money and know what’s important in life.”

She then went on to rave about how much she loved her job back in the day.

“I love tour guides at Universal. I memorized the entire thing, so I was there for a little bit. Then I actually booked Sharp Objects.”

Sydney Sweeney Shares Disgusting Behind-The-Scenes Details On Euphoria’s Infamous Hot Tub Scene

In the same episode of Hot Ones, Sydney Sweeney shared some stomach-curdling, disgusting details about the Euphoria hot tub scene that left many audience members uncomfortable. In season 2 of Euphoria, Sam Levinson and Sweeney created a scene of perfect projectile vomit on a hot tub that can easily go down in history after the Saltburn bathwater scene.

Usually, to create fake vomit on-screen, the team makes a paste of whatever is lying around and mixes it with milk and water.

“You just put it in your mouth, and then you hold it, and you puke it up.”

However, that was not enough for the perfectionist Levinson, who went an extra notch to get extreme puking.

“They had to get a pump, and they had this pipe that they taped and hid on my body and CGI’d it out, up my neck, and then there was a horse bit that I had to put in my mouth. And so during that scene, they’re filling my mouth with throwup. And then, I open up my mouth, and it just starts shooting out. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever experienced.”

While she did give credit where credit is due and said that some of them were necessary and fared well for the scene, she still did not understand why they would need “the horse bit? It was huge!”

Madame Web is coming out on February 16, 2024.
